By now, everyone knows that Terra Nova‘s premiere has been pushed back multiple times thanks in a large part to its effects. You’ll have to wait til the pilot airs September 26 on Fox to decide if the delays were ultimately worth it, but you can get a peek at the show’s overall look right now. A new video explores the show’s massive and really quite beautiful set. You can’t accuse the crew of lacking for ambition, and considering that snowballing production costs were one of the problems that plagued the series early on, it’s nice to know the money actually went somewhere.

I caught the first half of the two-hour premiere at Comic-Con, and while there’s room for improvement on the story side, I wrote that “[i]f nothing else, the show looks absolutely gorgeous.” After checking out this clip, I think you’ll agree. Watch the video after the jump.

Also after the jump, read about new projects from Daniel Tosh, Sean Hayes and Locke & Key writer Josh Friedman.

After a famously rocky production history, which saw the show’s premiere pushed back time and time again, Fox’s Terra Nova is finally set to premiere September 26. On Saturday, Comic-Con attendees got the first good look at the series, when Fox showed the first half of the series’ two-hour pilot during a presentation about the show. Afterward, executive producers Rene Echevarria, Brannon Braga, and Jose Molina, plus star Stephen Lang, held a brief panel talking about their work on the show.

The Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi series takes place both many years in the future and many, many years in the past: In the year 2149, Earth is dying thanks to centuries of pollution and overdevelopment. The best hope for the human race is an experimental colony called Terra Nova, located in prehistoric (read: dinosaur) times. Jason O’Mara stars as Jim Shannon, the head of a family selected to join the Tenth Pilgrimage of settlers to the new land. Shelley Conn, Landon Liboiron, Naomi Scott, and Alana Mansour fill out the rest of the family; Christine Adams and Lang also star.

Fox showed roughly the first fifty minutes of Terra Nova, enough for us to get a good taste. How did it look? Were the delays worth it? Do the dinosaurs look good? Does O’Mara take off his shirt? Hit the jump for answers to those question and a review of the footage, plus highlights from the panel.

‘Terra Nova’ Full-Length Trailer

Fox has released a full length trailer for the Steven Spielberg-produced science fiction series Terra Nova, which is set to premiere on Mondays this Fall. The new television show “follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race.” This new two and a half minute trailer shows us a lot of new footage, giving us a much better idea of what the series is really about.

Production on Steven Spielberg‘s time-traveling dinosaur series Terra Nova has been notoriously rocky, but the marketing campaign, at least, seems to be right on track. We’ve seen a few teasers already, and Fox has now released a one-minute trailer for the series. The new clip offers a better look at the future world the settlers are leaving behind, as well as some of the dangers that await them in their new prehistoric home. Watch it after the jump.

New ‘Terra Nova’ Promo Welcomes You to Paradise

Fox may have moved the Terra Nova premiere date from May to an as-yet-unannounced date in the fall, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be getting any glimpses of the show between now and then. The network has just released another new promo for its time-traveling sci fi series, presumably to give us a hint at exactly what kind of fancy special effects this extra time is buying. Watch it after the jump.

It’s been a rough several months for Terra Nova, the highly anticipated Steven Spielberg-produced Fox series, and it looks like we’re not quite out of the woods yet. The network recently announced that it has moved the series premiere date  from May 2011 to fall 2011. The series stars Jason O’Mara (Life on Mars) as the head of a 22nd century family sent back in time to live in a prehistoric colony called Terra Nova. More details after the jump.

There may be some unreasonable expectations placed on the shoulders of Terra Nova, the new Fox show about a family that travels back in time to a prehistoric colony. Steven Spielberg‘s name is in the credits and the show features time travel and dinosaurs, so there is a natural tendency to expect it to somehow stack up against his theatrical efforts.

So check out this new teaser for the show, which shows Stephen Lang in full-on bearded leader mode, but more importantly gives a very toothy peek into the maw of one of the show’s dinosaurs. Read More »
