What happens to a superhero when you take away his powers? It’s a question that’s been asked countless times in comic books, and it’ll be asked again in Powers, the first original scripted series from PlayStation.

Sharlto Copley plays former superhero Christian Walker. After losing his abilities, he becomes a cop specializing in cases involving superpowers. Sam Nielson Toy Story Space Game

For every Disney project we see released, there are tons that never see the light of day. A new example for that list is an abandoned Toy Story video game that was going to be set in space. It was being developed by Avalanche Software in the time between releasing their Toy Story 3 game and moving onto the current, ultra popular Disney Infinity.

Jack Huston Now in Talks to Lead ‘The Crow’

The remake of The Crow has turned into a revolving door for talent, with a parade of writers, directors, and actors being attached to the film in various capacities before falling off again. Most recently, F. Javier Gutiérrez was going to direct, with Luke Evans starring. But Gutiérrez fell away, and Corin Hardy signed on to direct. Not long afterwards Luke Evans also moved on, due in part to the change in scheduling and story approach that came with the director change.

Now Jack Huston, perhaps best known for his role as a scarred assassin on Boardwalk Empire, is in early talks to star. Read More »

Lord of the Rings theme park

Many groups of fantasy fans have places they can visit in order to play in their preferred world. Harry Potter fans have theme parks and museums. DC fans can go to Six Flags. Marvel and Star Wars are owned by Disney, so those will eventually be covered. But what about Lord of the Rings fans? Sure, they can go to New Zealand where Peter Jackson’s movies were filmed, but that’s more of a sightseeing trip. Where’s the action?

Arrow and The Flash are doing quite well for The CW, and the network is pursuing more shows in the same vein. When Brandon Routh joined Arrow this year there was talk of a potential spin-off show featuring his character, for example. Now we know more about that show, and it won’t just be a showcase for Routh. No, this one is a DC Comics team series at the CW, featuring four actors/characters from Arrow and The Flash. Read More »

Eva trailer

In the film Eva, Daniel Brühl plays a cybernetic engineer who, while attempting to craft a robotic child, is reunited with his former lover, who happens to be paired up with his brother. So the film, from director Kike Maíllo, has a blend of deep sci-fi and some heady romantic entanglement, all of which is on display in this Eva trailer. Marta Etura, Lluís Homar and Alberto Ammann also star; check out the footage below.
