Previously, the #1 reason why the Alamo Drafthouse is the coolest theater chain in the country probably would’ve been its no talking or texting policy. However, that reason just got knocked off the top spot.
Fresh off the disappointing news that Sony Pictures has cancelled the December 25th release of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s comedy, The Interview, the Alamo Drafthouse announced that, in its place, they’ll screen Matt Parker and Trey Stone‘s Team America: World Police.
This won’t be at every theater for every screening unfortunately. In fact, as of right now, it’s just one night, one show, at one theater. But it’s a clever, wonderful piece of programming from a chain known for that kind of thing. Read more about the Team America The Interview screening below.
UPDATE: Paramount Pictures is shutting down this and any other planned screenings of Team America. Read more below.

Quentin Tarantino has recorded a list of his top 20 favorite films which have been released over the last 17 years. What’s so special about the last 17 years, or the year 1992? That was the year Tarantino became a filmmaker.
Films on Tarantino’s list include Battle Royale, Anything Else, Audition, Blade, Boogie Nights, Dazed & Confused, Dogville, Fight Club, Fridays, The Host, The Insider, Joint Security Area, Lost In Translation, The Matrix, Memories of Murder, Police Story 3, Shaun of the Dead, Speed, Team America, and Unbreakable. It think it’s interesting that Tarantino mentions that The Matrix sequels ruined the mythology, enough to push the first film off the top of his list. Watch the full list after the jump, complete with commentary from Tarantino himself .

Everyone poops. It’s a truism that you can’t deny, and there’s even an entire book on the subject. In fact, there’s a whole slew of books in that department, ranging from What’s Your Poo Telling You? to It Hurts When I Poop: A Story For Children Who Are Scared To Use The Potty. Which based on the title alone scares me, and I’m an adult. For some reason, from childhood to our adult years, toilet humor amuses us for some reason, and that means we’ve seen plenty of it in the movies.
In fact, Oscar nominee Slumdog Millionaire has a pretty extensive and memorable poop scene in it, and we hope that somewhere there’s a propmaster or special effects technician who is proud to say, “I made the poop in Slumdog” and that someone is buying them a beer. Since the nominations came out, I’ve been thinking about all the other memorable poop scenes in movies, for better or for worse, and thought I’d round up some of the best for a Monday morning GeekBomb to get you going. Have your daily dose of fiber and dive in after the break.
