‘Abduction’ Trailer Starring Taylor Lautner

The first trailer for Abduction, starring Twilight‘s Taylor Lautner and Snow White‘s Lily Collins, just came online courtesy of MTV. Directed by John Singleton (Boyz N The Hood), the film stars Lautner as a teenager who sees a picture of himself on a missing person’s website and is subsequently chased by a bunch of mysterious characters. The hardcore action film is set for release on September 23 and sort of looks like a blend of The Bourne Identity and Hanna rolled into The Fugitive with some high school tropes. I hope someone in Vegas is laying odds on the future of Taylor Lautner‘s career. He escaped being fired after the first Twilight film, became one of the main draws of the second and third movies, and has seen a lot of ink devoted to deals made in his name for mainstream movies outside of the Twilight franchise.

But none of those movies have opened yet, so we don’t know if young Mr. Lautner can carry a film on his own. So every time I read an article like Deadline’s latest, which talks up his attachment to Incarceron and another new ‘international spy thriller’ set up at New Regency, I’m inclined to agree with the people who say the actor just has the best PR team on earth.

But back to Incarceron. Deadline says that Blake Lively, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson are the frontrunners to join the actor in that adaptation of Catherine Fisher‘s novel about a futuristic prison world. Read More »

But with Twilight‘s end approaching, he’s in a position to continue lining up projects. One is an adaptation of Catherine Fisher‘s novel Incarceron, set in a massive futuristic prison. Read More »

Not even a day after word came out on the talented-but-unknown Andrew Garfield making minuscule earnings for the Spider-Man reboot, there’s a report of less-talented-but-better-known stars scoring a huge payday. This might not be so frustrating to read if the stars in question didn’t happen to be, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, the leads of the Twilight series.
