This is certainly not the first Star Wars wedding, but it’s definitely one worth mentioning. StarWars.com Editor/Writer Bonnie Burton (who is also a friend of /Film) married our favorite Star Wars droid R2-D2 at a the Commitment Chapel during Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando. The ceremony was handled by Darth Maul, but it is worth mentioning that Lord Darth Vader was the best man, R2-KT was the flower girl, Adrianne Curry was the Maid of Honor, Lucasfilm’s Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet gave Bonnie away and Elvis Trooper (an Elivs version of the Stormtrooper) was also in attendance.

Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet made a couple of big Star Wars-related revelations this weekend at Chicago’s C2E2 convention.
The first of which is kind of expected: A Blu-Ray release of the six Star Wars live-action feature films is being worked on, and while no official date was announced, Sansweet says “it won’t be in the too distant future.” IGN Blu-Ray quotes Sansweet as touting the set as being “a very full set … with lots of extra material” including “real treasures” like “all kinds of scenes from dailies that have never been seen before.” Sounds like this will be the Ultimate Set until more extras are uncovered for the super duper ultimate release, whenever the next collector’s set or format change comes along.
The second bit of news is a bit more unexpected: After a fan commented that he “would really love to see new adventures after Jedi with our favorite characters Luke, Han and Leia,” Sansweet replied, “And you will, in the new animation.”
