Star Wars Battlefront 2 The Last Jedi

Fans of Star Wars Battlefront II were up in arms when they realized it would take 40 hours of game play (and a heck of a lot of in-game credits) to be able to unlock the ability to play as Darth Vader, and EA ultimately relented to the overwhelming pressure and made that character (and others) far more easily accessible to all.

Now a slick new trailer for the game shows off highlights of its upcoming first “season” of free downloadable content, which incorporates characters like Finn and Captain Phasma and locations like Crait from Rian Johnson‘s upcoming sequel Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Take a look.

star wars battlefront 2 trailer

Star Wars has always been bigger than the movies, but that’s especially true in 2017. Sure, you can watch the films and the movies alone and have a great time, but keeping up with the official canon means watching TV shows and reading books and buying large stacks of comics. And now, with the impending arrival of Star Wars Battlefront 2, that means playing new video games that fill in critical gaps in the timeline.

The new Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer is all about story – there is no gameplay to be found. However, this means that this trailer may interest the non-gamers, people who are interested in the lore but don’t know their way around a video game controller. In fact, the perspective here is twisted enough to pique the interest of even the most jaded fan.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Trailer

Over the weekend, Electronic Arts unveiled the official gameplay trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2, revealing the first footage from inside the game itself, and it’s intense.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Trailer

When Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought the sci-fi saga back in a big way, Star Wars invaded every type of media you could think of, from comics to TV shows to video games. The latter resulted in the revival of one of the most popular video game franchises to take place in a galaxy far, far away: Star Wars Battlefront.

Though Star Wars Battlefront was a big bestseller before The Force Awakens hit theaters, the game ended up disappointing even some hardcore Star Wars fans by not having a campaign mode (creating fast boredom) and having some clunky gameplay, both as a soldier on the ground and as a pilot in space. Thankfully, it sounds like all those problems will be resolved when Star Wars Battlefront II arrives later this year.
