After the long holiday weekend, it seems like Hollywood is back in full swing. Monday we had announcements of new projects for Mark Wahlberg, Halle Berry and Kevin Smith and Tuesday is more of the same. Though previously rumored, Tom Hanks has now been confirmed to star in Kathryn Bigelow’s follow-up to her Oscar-winning work in The Hurt Locker called Triple Frontier (or possibly Sleeping Dogs), Liam Neeson will star in An Ordinary Man from director Brad Silberling, Kirsten Dunst will hit the road with Hit Girl with the coming of age drama Hick and Mary J. Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary [set photo]

Johnny Depp‘s schedule is packed, but when the chance comes up to work on a reality-based dramatic action thriller with the team that won last year’s Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture Oscars, you bet he’s going to try and make time.

Kathryn Bigelow, who won the Best Director Oscar for her work on The Hurt Locker, which also won Best Picture, is working again with her Hurt Locker co-writer (and, ahem, Oscar winner) Mark Boal on Sleeping Dogs.
