Endless Love

Valentine’s Day just wouldn’t be complete without a movie romance, and this year we’re getting three. One is Winter’s Tale, a romantic fantasy starring Colin Farrell as a handsome thief. Another is About Last Night, a cheeky comedy about singles in the big city. And the third is Endless Love, a Romeo and Juliet-flavored drama about a prim-and-proper gal (Gabriella Wilde) and the bad boy (Alex Pettyfer) she falls for.

Based on just those descriptions, you’ve probably already made up your mind about which one is best for you and your date. But if you need a little more information, maybe this final trailer for Endless Love will help. Check it out after the jump.

Alice, Snow White and Dorothy have all done it. Red Riding Hood too. Now The Little Mermaid is going down the road of dark fairy tale remakes. Sony has just picked up a decidedly un-Disney retelling of the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Little Mermaid called Mermaid: A Twist on the Classic Tale by Carolyn Turgeon. The original story was most famously retold in the 1989 Disney film but this version, which will be written and directed by Country Strong helmer Shana Feste (above), adds a few more adult twists to the familiar story. Tobey Maguire and Jenno Topping will produce. Read a plot description and more after the break. Read More »

Funny folks Jeff Garlin and Mary Lynn Rajskub have signed on for Safety Not Guaranteed, which will also star Kristen Bell, Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Recreation), Lynn Shelton (Humpday), Jenica Bergere (Rat Race), Jake Johnson (No Strings Attached), Mark Duplass, and newcomer Karan Soni. The comedy centers around “three magazine employees sent to investigate a classified ad from a man seeking a partner for time travel” and is based on an actual ad that was once featured on the Jay Leno Show.

Safety Not Guaranteed will be the first feature by Colin Trevorrow, who is directing from Derek Connolly‘s original screenplay. Big Beach Films (Little Miss Sunshine) and Duplass Brothers Productions (The Puffy Chair) are producing, which should probably give you some hint as to what kind of humor and general vibe we can expect. The film is currently shooting in Seattle. [The Hollywood Reporter]

After the jump, Hilary Swank considers co-starring with Jeremy Renner and a Silence of the Lambs parody musical hits Off Broadway.
