Production is underway on Captain America: Civil War right now down in Atlanta, Georgia, and with a whole bunch of The Avengers (new and old) on the cast roster, it’s safe to say we can expect a pretty massive flick. And while the movie doesn’t arrive until May 6th, 2016, one of the cast members is wasting no time driving a wedge between our superheroes.
Jeremy Renner, who plays the skilled archer and former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye), took to Twitter yesterday with a little welcome card that teases the coming battle between Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). Check out the Captain America: Civil War promo art after the jump! Read More »
Hot on the heels of some new images from Ridley Scott‘s sci-fi adaptation The Martian, a viral video has surfaced online in the form of a video diary from astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) on the Hermes. The ship is in the process of heading to Mars, and all the astronauts are preparing for the mission ahead. It’s a pretty cool way to introduce the characters.

When Ridley Scott‘s The Martian was first announced, it drew a lot of knee-jerk comparisons to Gravity thanks to its stranded-in-space hook. But as casting continues, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that The Martian is a different beast. For one thing, instead of just two lonely leads, The Martian boasts a star-studded cast that seems to get bigger by the day.
The latest big names to climb aboard are Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sebastian Stan, and Mackenzie Davis, who join Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Michael Peña, Donald Glover, and Jeff Daniels. Hit the jump for more details on the latest The Martian casting.

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
We don’t know plans for the Captain America 3 ending, and frankly wouldn’t say if we did. The film is still two years away and hasn’t started production yet. With The Winter Soldier coming to Blu-ray, however, the Russo Brothers just happen to be talking about the film. Some of the biggest questions they’re fielding surround the fate of Chris Evans‘ character. The last film gave him two formidable characters to whom he might pass the Captain America shield: Sebastian Stan‘s Bucky and Anthony Mackie‘s Falcon. With Evans’ Marvel contract running out soon, that pass seems like a viable option.
It becomes even more of a viable option when you look at Marvel’s first threequel, Iron Man 3, which wrapped up Tony Stark’s story in a nice bow with a fourth film nowhere to be seen. Could Chris Evans’ Captain America story be ending on May 6, 2016 with a new hero continuing the story? Yes and no, say the directors. Read More »

At this point, there’s every reason to expect that an actor with a major Marvel movie role will have signed a six-film deal. So this week’s revelation from Sebastian Stan of a nine-picture deal isn’t a huge surprise, despite the fact that it tops even Samuel L. Jackson’s epic deal. (As far as we know. Other cast members might have similar contracts.) But it does tell us a bit about what to expect from his character. Stan played Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger, and has a significant role in sequel The Winter Soldier.
Since The Winter Soldier doesn’t open for a couple more weeks we won’t reveal any specifics of Stan’s potential future role with Marvel, but after the break we’ll indulge in a bit of speculation. Read More »
Having seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I can confirm the action this time around is much more guttural. The punches, the kicks, the crashes and falls all have a realistic weight to them. You can practically feel the bones crunching in the theater. Case in point: this awesome new Captain America Winter Soldier clip, which features Cap (Chris Evans) chasing the mysterious Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) after an assassination attempt. Who or what was shot at? You’ll have to wait until the film comes out April 4 for that answer, but below check out the excellent aftermath below. Read More »
