Akiva Goldsman is still working towards the realization of his first effort as a feature film director. For quite some time, the writer/producer has wanted to bring to the screen an adaptation of Mark Helprin‘s novel Winter’s Tale. In February Warner Bros. agreed to make the film, though at the time it looked like the project was going to have to wait until after the shoot for the first feature in the Dark Tower series, which Goldsman is writing and producing.
With The Dark Tower sidelined for the time being, Goldsman is actively working on Winter’s Tale. A casting shortlist has emerged, and while the picks aren’t final by any means, this will give you an idea of where he’s going with the project. Read More »
We haven’t yet seen a trailer for David Cronenberg‘s new film A Dangerous Method, but now here’s the first still from his next new film, an adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel Cosmopolis. Principal photography started on the movie this week, and so here’s the first look at Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon as husband and estranged wife Eric and Elise. Get used to looking at that limo, because if the film is faithful to the book you’ll be seeing a lot of it. David Cronenberg has his cast pretty much set for his adaptation of Don DeLillo‘s novel Cosmopolis. Robert Pattinson plays the lead role, and we’ve been waiting for the final word on an actress to play his character’s estranged wife. Marion Cotillard was originally set to play the part, but dropped out due to her pregnancy. And now David Cronenberg has tapped Sarah Gadon, who had a small part in the director’s yet to be released film A Dangerous Method. Read More »
