If you’re looking for some fun, tense, innovative action later this week, you should check out Everly. Joe Lynch‘s latest film stars Salma Hayek as a woman stuck in an apartment when her ex-boyfriend/gangster finds out she’s turned on him. In an instant, her world gets violent as any and everyone imaginable visits to try and kill her. But Everly isn’t going to back off without a fight and the result is non-stop insanity.
Everly comes to on demand on January 23, well before it hits theaters on February 27. Below, you can watch the brand new, official Everly trailer. Read More »

Christmas came and went last week in the real world, but in the first Everly trailer the holiday has just arrived. And it’s not looking very merry or bright for the poor title character.
Salma Hayek leads the Joe Lynch-directed actioner as a call girl who’s become a police informant. Needless to say, this doesn’t sit well with her mob boss ex (Hiroyuki Watanabe). He sends a string of killers to her apartment in order to finish off her and her family, forcing Everly to defend herself in any way she can. The film hits VOD in January then theaters in February but you can watch the Everly trailer after the jump. Read More »
With Everly, director Joe Lynch answers the age old question, just how much action can you stage in a single room? The answer, not surprising, is a lot. Salma Hayek is the title character, a hooker turned informant who has just been discovered by her employer. Her mission is to stay alive over the next few hours in hopes she can save her family. And over that time, she’ll be forced to stay in the apartment because of the seemingly non-stop barrage of people coming to kill her.
Written by Yale Hannon, from a story by he and Lynch, Everly sounds like a pretty simple movie and it is. It’s also a Christmas movie, giving this one woman vs. the world, in a confined space, film a decidedly and deliberate Die Hard vibe. The film never reaches the heights of that classic, but it keeps us suitably engaged because we never ever know what’s going to come through that door next. Read the rest of our Everly review below. The Hall H lineup tends to consist of movies that are already getting a lot of hype, but every year there are a few under-the-radar projects that get their moment in the sun as well. One of the latter this year was Everly, described by director Joe Lynch as “Die Hard in a room.” Which I suppose makes Salma Hayek Bruce WIllis.
The action-packed thriller follows a woman who’s stuck in her apartment as her mob boss ex sends thugs to torment and kill her. The Everly Comic-Con panel included the first footage from the film, involving gangsters, grenades, and guns a-plenty. Hit the jump for our Everly footage description and Everly Comic-Con panel highlights.

The summer schedule is chock full of sequels we’re dying, or at least very curious to see. This weekend alone has Fast & Furious 6 going up against Before Midnight, for example. Monsters University and The Wolverine are due out in the following months. And so on.
Today, however, we have a trailer for what may be the least-anticipated follow-up of the season. (Least-anticipated by the hardcore movie crowd, that is.) Grown Ups 2 reunites Adam Sandler, David Spade, Kevin James, and Chris Rock in their hometown for still more hilarious shenanigans. The film also brings some fresh blood into the mix, in the form of Taylor Lautner, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Shaquille O’Neil. Watch the video after the jump.

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Grown Ups is one of the movies from the past few years that many people love to hate — even those people who haven’t seen it. (Confession: I have not seen Grown Ups.) Presented below, mostly without comment, is the trailer for Grown Ups 2, in which Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek move out of LA and back to their home town. Soon they’re joined by much of the rest of the cast from the first film, and if this trailer is any indication, the hijinks that ensue are wacky.
And keep an eye out for Taylor Lautner, doing comedy on purpose. Read More »

There’s no better place than the Oscars to see all your favorite movie stars assembled in one place, but the trailer for Jimmy Kimmel‘s Movie: The Movie V2 might be a close second.
In his post-Oscars show last year, Kimmel debuted an epic, star-studded 9-minute trailer poking fun at every obnoxious movie trope under the sun. This year, he’s back with an even more epic, even more star-studded trailer for Movie: The Movie V2. Because as Kimmel quips, “When you have a big success in Hollywood, there’s only one reasonable thing you can do, and that is cheapen it with a sequel.”
Watch Movie: The Movie V2 after the jump, followed by Kimmel’s other big movie parody, Life of Psy. Yup, that’s exactly what it sounds like.

If you watched the movie Warrior and thought, “This movie needs more Kevin James,” then today is your lucky day. Sony has just released the first trailer for Here Comes The Boom, a comedy directed by Frank Coraci (The Waterboy) about a high school teacher (James) who becomes a mixed martial arts fighter with the hopes to make enough money to save his school. Co-starring Salma Hayek, Henry Winkler and the official endorsement of the number one MMA organization, the UFC, the film now opens October 12. Check out the trailer below. Read More »
In July, Oliver Stone is going back to his lurid daylight noir style (think U-Turn) with his adaptation of Don Winslow‘s novel Savages. The film features Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson as a couple of pot growers whose business ends up in the crosshairs of a more powerful Mexican drug lord (Salma Hayek). Her henchman (Benicio Del Toro) kidnaps the guys’ shared girlfriend (Blake Lively), which leads to a pretty intense confrontation.
After the break, we’ve got an exclusive behind the scenes video showing the setup and filming of one of the movie’s action setpieces. We’ve also dropped in some of the other videos from the film that have hit in the past couple days. Read More »
