The Meddler was on my most anticipated of 2016 list. The film, which stars Rose Byrne and Susan Sarandon, is Lorene Scafaria‘s second directorial effort, following the effortlessly charming Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Scafaria’s film premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, where it was greeted with a positive reception. Sarandon, in particular, was praised for her performance.

The first Neighbors pitted new parents Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) against the fraternity next door, led by Teddy (Zac Efron). In the sequel, the couple finds themselves enlisting their the help of their old nemesis to fight what might be an even bigger threat: a sorority next door.
Chloë Grace Moretz, Kiersey Clemons, and Beanie Feldstein play three of the ladies of Kappa Nu, who aren’t about to let a little thing like furious neighbors stop them from throwing epic ragers. Adding to the pain this time is the fact that the girls are, well, girls. “With the sorority girls, it’s like a glimpse into their daughter’s future, and it terrifies them,” Byrne has said. So what exactly has the Radners so spooked? Find out with the first Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising trailer after the jump.
UPDATE: An international trailer for Neighbors 2 has just hit, and you can watch it below.

Shirtless in short shorts sounds like the porn parody of Sleepless in Seattle about 22 years too late, but it’s actually the best way to describe the way Seth Rogen and Zac Efron appear in our first look at the comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Following up the 2014 summer comedy from Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller, the movie sees Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne facing a new challenging neighbor, and it looks like plenty of partying is in store for this installment as well. In Paul Feig‘s comedy Spy, Rose Byrne played the mostly villainous character Rayna, but even a character with a cold soul cracks up when she’s in the same room with a bunch of accomplished comedians. And so we’ve got this clip from a Spy gag reel drawn from the film’s home video release, which is available from digital HD outlets today.
Here Rose Byrne, herself a very accomplished comedian, loses it more than a few times while shooting various scenes in the film. Check out part of the reel — one of two on the home release — below. Read More »
Even though Chloe Grace Moretz has been taking very mature roles throughout her career as a young actress, she’s now 18 years old, and it looks like her first movie as an official adult will have her causing some trouble in college.
The star of Kick-Ass, Let Me In and If I Stay has just been set for a role in Neighbors 2. So far we’ve only heard sparse details on the comedy sequel, but now we have an official title. Find out more about Chloe Moretz joining Neighbors 2, including the title of the film, after the jump! Read More »

Melissa McCarthy is funny pretty much all of the time, but she’s never better than when she’s working with Paul Feig. Following the massive successes of Bridesmaids and The Heat, the pair are reuniting again this summer for the James Bond sendup Spy.
McCarthy plays Susan Cooper, a deskbound CIA analyst supporting the agency’s suave star spy (Jude Law) on his missions, she never gets to have the glory. Until, that is, the usual James Bond types (including Jason Statham) are targeted by a villain (Rose Byrne) who claims to know all the identities of all the agents. With no other options, the CIA reluctantly promotes her to field agent.

Based on the cast list, you’d probably think Ross Katz‘s Adult Beginners was a broad comedy. The lead is Nick Kroll of Kroll Show and The League fame; co-stars include SNL‘s Bobby Moynihan, Community‘s Joel McHale, 30 Rock‘s Jane Krakowski, and comedians Mike Birbiglia and Jason Mantzoukas.
But while the Adult Beginners has some laughs, it’s really more of a gentle dramedy. Kroll plays an entrepreneur whose career is in tatters. In an effort to rebuild his life, he moves in with his sister (Rose Byrne), her husband (Bobby Cannavale), and their young son. Watch the Adult Beginners trailer after the jump. Read More »
