Rock the Kasbah trailer

Thanks to the first trailer, people knew a little bit about Rock the Kasbah earlier this year. Then Bill Murray showed up to Comic Con to promote the Barry Levinson movie. After the actor walked around Hall H doing karaoke before the panel, and spent a bunch of time roaming the aisles afterwards to shake hands and pose for pics with fans, the film’s profile got a nice bump.

Now here’s a new Rock the Kasbah trailer, and it’s all about Murray’s comic energy and the big supporting cast, which includes Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Danny McBride, Scott Caan, and Bruce Willis. Have a look below. Read More »

Rock the Kasbah trailer

In Rock the Kasbah, the talent on camera, behind the camera and in the story is all off the charts. Directed by Barry Levinson (Diner, Rain Man) and written by Mitch Glazer (Scrooged), it stars Bill Murray, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Danny McBride, Scott Caan and Bruce Willis. Murray is a rock manager who gets stranded in Afganastan and meets an incredible singer who he decides to help get her voice out into the world. Shia LaBeouf

So much for retirement. Just three weeks after his dramatic announcement that he would “#stopcreating” in the wake of the Daniel Clowes plagiarism scandal, Shia LaBeouf has booked a new movie.

LaBeouf has just joined Bill Murray in Barry Levinson‘s Rock the Kasbah, along with Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, and Zooey Deschanel. The indie comedy follows a music manager in Kabul. Hit the jump for more details.

This time, the Sharif does like it. Bill Murray has just signed on to star in Rock the Kasbah, directed by Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson. In the film, Murray will play a older music manager who stumbles a talented young singer in Afghanistan and angles for her to win an American Idol type competition show.
