‘iZombie’ Season Two Trailer: More Brains

iZombie S2 trailer

The lowest-profile DC comics series on The CW seems to be iZombie, but that doesn’t exactly mean the show is struggling. It just doesn’t get the attention of The Flash or Arrow.

That said, iZombie had a healthy audience in its first season thanks in part to a combination of good casting and perfectly-pitched scripts. The series really inspired a solid core fanbase as it also garnered critical acclaim, with praise particularly directed at the show’s comic wit. The series returns for a second season in early October, and the new iZombie S2 trailer is here. Read More »

The whole Neptune gang is reuniting, but it’s not for a sequel per se. Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Ryan Hansen, and more are set to star in Play It Again, Dick, a Veronica Mars spinoff about a Veronica Mars spinoff.

In keeping with the meta angle of the web series, the actors will be playing both themselves and their Veronica Mars characters. As creator Rob Thomas puts it, it’s the cast of Veronica Mars meets the “L.A. ‘reality'” of Party Down. Hit the jump for all the details.

Almost 100,000 fans spent over $5.7 million to back a movie sequel to the cult television series Veronica Mars. Backers who spent $35 were promised “a digital version of the movie within a few days of the movie’s theatrical debut” in addition to a t-shirt and some other extras. The movie was released both theatrically and on video on demand this weekend, but a percentage of the crowdfunded film’s backers were left dissatisfied with the movie’s digital download. Why? The Veronica Mars UltraViolet release frustrated a number of kickstarter backers.

Warner Bros Digital distributed the movie through Flixster, which is (among other things) an app front-end for the UltraViolet movie service. There were multiple reports of fans who found themselves frustrated, unable to access their digital copy of the film promised by the kickstarter. Warner Bros. will be issuing refunds to supporters who have been unable to access their copy of the film.

On the second, it’s harder to judge. For all its imperfections, though, it unmistakably delivers in one respect: It left me wanting much, much more.
