Hollywood would have you believe that high school is the defining years of your life. Countless films follow teenagers as they look for the one magical thing that’ll get them laid or get them out of town, and even a lot of adult films seem to be based on the notion that you are who you sat with in the high school cafeteria. But as Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life shows, the years leading up to high school can be just as traumatic in their own way.
Based on the YA novel by James Patterson, Middle School follows Rafe (Griffin Gluck), an artsy kid who transfers to a strict new school. Fed up with all of the oppressive rules, Rafe and his best friend Leo (Thomas Barbusca, a.k.a. the Burp King of Westchester) plot to break every single rule in the school’s code of conduct. Surrounding Rafe and Leo are a hilarious adult cast including Andy Daly, Adam Pally, Retta, Rob Riggle, and Lauren Graham. Watch the Middle School trailer after the jump. Read More »

In Let’s Be Cops, two friends discover a new (and highly illegal) way to get attention from the opposite sex. Two friends, one a douche and the other kind of a dork, dress up as cops for a costume party. They find, however, that people think they’re actually cops. And the reaction is pretty positive — especially from women who like a guy in uniform. And then things get messy. This new Let’s Be Cops red-band trailer shows how a couple real cops mistake the guys for officers, and the two dudes end up trying to solve an actual crime.
Luke Greenfield directed Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson in the lead roles, while Rob Riggle, Nina Dobrev, James D’Arcy and Andy Garcia round out the cast. Watch the new trailer below. Read More »

The possible series is still in the very early planning stages, and the network has not yet settled on a concept. However, one of the ideas being tossed around is a comedy centered on Rob Riggle‘s character Gil Thorpe. Between this and the Dumb and Dumber To news, the former fake new reporter is having a pretty great week. Hit the jump for all the details.

In the English language, the phrase Nature Calls has a few different connotations. The title of this film, which recently had its world premiere at SXSW 2012, refers to men going into the woods to become men. The woods, Earth, nature is calling them for something greater. However, the more appropriate connotation would be when the phrase refers to someone going to the bathroom. Because that’s more akin to what the film is.
Written and directed by Todd Rohal, Nature Calls stars Patton Oswalt as a Boy Scout enthusiast who takes a group of reluctant Scouts into the woods to try and revitalize his dying troop, only to be chased down by his anti-Scout brother, played by Johnny Knoxville. It also stars Rob Riggle, Maura Tierny, Darrell Hammond, and the late, great Patrice O’Neal, to whom the film is dedicated. As a huge fan of O’Neal’s, it truly pains me to say these things about the movie, but he would have agreed. Nature Calls is like an animal distracted by a shiny thing. It’s dumb and all over the place with nothing to say. Read More »

With just ten days left until the release of 21 Jump Street, the marketing folks are ramping up their efforts with an extended red-band trailer that clocks in at nearly five minutes. Some of it is stuff we’ve already seen in the previous trailers, but there’s a good amount of new stuff as well, including trippy, drug-induced hallucinations and Channing Tatum miming a lightsaber fight with his teen nerd crew. Watch the video (NSFW for language) after the jump.
