‘Into the Storm’ Trailer and Poster

Into the Storm trailer

Because we haven’t been through enough crazy weather events so far this year, Warner Bros. has just unleashed its first Into the Storm trailer. When a barrage of cyclones hits the small town of Silverton, a group of thrill-seeking storm chasers head out into the chaos to try and document this once-in-a-lifetime meteorological event.

Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield from The Hobbit) stars, along with Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), Matt Walsh (Veep), and Jeremy Sumpter (TV’s Friday Night Lights). Watch the trailer and check out the new poster after the jump.

Monday, November 4 was a fine day for Tolkien nerds. In addition to releasing details on the extended scenes from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and new posters and a new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Warner Bros. also hosted a multi-city fan event attended by Peter Jackson and several cast members.

The director kicked off the proceedings with his latest production diary (which you can see after the jump), followed by a Q&A with fans all across the globe. However, the real centerpiece of the event was in the new footage they showed — six scenes’ worth, totaling roughly twenty minutes. We also got to hear the new theme by Ed Sheeran, “I See Fire.” Hit the jump for highlights from the event plus a footage recap.

Next week, Hobbit fans can head to theaters to see brand new footage from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. On November 4, Warner Bros. is hosting a worldwide theatrical fan event to celebrate the upcoming sequel, which will include a Q&A with several of the film’s stars. While the event will take place in cities all over the world, the four host cities – New York, Los Angeles, London and Wellington – will have stars in attendance, all linked by satellite, answering your questions.

Just as next year’s real-life tornado season winds down, Warner Bros. will unleash a twister of its own The studio has just set an August release for Into the Storm, formerly titled Black Sky or Category Six.

Batman Standing Dark Knight Rises

It wasn’t so long ago that Christian Bale donned those pointy Bat ears for the very last time. With a Batman vs. Superman movie now in the works, though, the time has come to recast the iconic superhero yet again.

Last week, we got word that Warner Bros. was looking to cast an actor in his late 30s or early 40s. This week, the talk is getting a little more specific. According to a new report, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Matthew Goode, Joe Manganiello, Richard Armitage, and Max Martini are among those being wishlisted for the part. The Hobbit Smaug Teaser header

Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf and Thorin Oakenshield will continue their journey on December 13 as Peter Jackson‘s second Hobbit film, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, hits theaters. It’s the sequel to last year’s hit An Unexpected Journey and the prequel to 2014′s There And Back Again. Together, they’ll bridge the gap to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

In the second chapter of The Hobbit, the band of dwarves inch closer to the Lonely Mountain and a showdown with the dangerous dragon Smaug, who long ago stole the wealth of the dwarves for himself. The first trailer for the film has now been released. It gives us an idea of just how far Jackson is pushing this second film, which will introduce characters played by Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch among others. Read More »
