Everything dies, baby that’s a fact
But maybe everything that dies someday comes back.

– Bruce Springsteen, “Atlantic City”

Does Avengers: Infinity War live up to the hype? That depends. If you wanted nothing more than to see the majority of the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters up on the screen together, then yes, Infinity War delivers. If you were hoping for something deeper, you might find yourself wanting more. Ultimately, Infinity War is a magic trick of a movie, full of deception and misdirection. It entertains, sure – but when the smoke clears, we can’t help but see the obvious way the trick was designed.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Actresses

Around the time the cast of Thor: Ragnarok was making the publicity rounds for the Marvel Studios sequel, cast member Tessa Thompson revealed that she and the rest of the female stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe talked to Kevin Feige about a possible all-female superhero team-up movie. Tessa Thompson explained:

“Recently, I marched up with a couple of other women that work in Marvel and we went to Kevin, ‘What about a movie with some female super heroes? Like all of them?'”

Kevin Feige quickly agreed to this idea, but we’ll be waiting at least a few years before that movie gets off the ground. In the meantime, we can imagine what it might be like with a new photo of almost all the Marvel Cinematic Universe actresses together for the first time ever. Read More »

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Music Video

When the news came that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be arriving on home video this month, director James Gunn teased one wild special feature the likes of which had never been seen on any Marvel Studios movie before. That special feature has now arrived in its entirety online.

James Gunn created a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 music video inspired by the original disco song “Guardians Inferno” by a group called The Sneepers, featuring none other than Star-Lord’s fictional father David Hasselhoff. This is a full fledged retro music video created in the same style as real hit disco songs from the 1970s, and it’s so weird and glorious. Watch it below! Read More »

This edition of The Morning Watch features an assembly of some of the most traumatic movie moments in movies that are rated PG (before the PG-13 rating was ever created), a rap recap of the first six seasons of Game of Thrones, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Pom Klementieff auditioning for all the summer movies this year. Your favorite galaxy-saving a-holes are back… or they’re about to be really soon, in any case. Marvel Studios has just dropped the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer, which assembles the whole gang: Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel). In typical fashion, they’re flying by the seats of their pants — but if we know them, they’ll manage to get it together just in time to save the MCU from completely imploding.

Check out the latest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer below, which includes our first look at Kurt Russell as Ego. Read More »
