Angry Birds Movie Easter

Even though Easter weekend is still a couple weeks away, The Angry Birds Movie is getting a head start by getting their holiday greeting out there. After all, birds have become a part of the Easter holiday, along with rabbits, for no good reason at all. The good news is that even though this is just a shameless plug for the animated adaptation of the mobile game franchise, it’s done in an extremely adorable way, thanks to the tiny hatchlings explaining what the Easter Bunny does for the holiday. Seriously, they’re almost unbearably cute. Read More »

The Boss Red-Band Trailer

Melissa McCarthy may not be returning for the Gilmore Girls revival, to the endless disappointment of Gilmore Girls fans, but don’t worry — she’s got plenty of other stuff to keep her busy in the coming months. Not only will she appear as one of the new fab four in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot, she’s also starring in The Boss, which reunites her with her Tammy director (and real-life husband) Ben Falcone.

McCarthy plays Michelle Darnell, a hotshot CEO whose extravagant lifestyle comes crashing down when she’s arrested for insider trading. She emerges from prison disgraced and discouraged, but finds an unlikely path back to the top in the form of Girl Scout cookies. Or rather, “Darnell’s Darlings Brownies.” Kristen Bell plays Michelle’s reluctant business partner, and Peter Dinklage shows up as… unclear, but the role involves him wielding a sword. Watch The Boss red-band trailer after the jump.  Read More »

Angry Birds Movie Trailer

Even though the movie is called The Angry Birds Movie, based on the popular mobile game of the same name, it looks like there’s really only one angry bird here. Red, a bushy-eyebrowed bird with a temper problem, is voiced by Jason Sudeikis. While his anger seems to be giving him some grief in everyday life, his short fuse also seems to be the only thing that allows him to see that the recently arrived green pigs are out to steal their eggs. And if you’ve been waiting to see some birds in a slingshot in this movie, the new Angry Birds Movie trailer should do the trick. Read More »

Pixels featurettes

Summer isn’t even halfway over, so there are still plenty of big movies coming to theaters in the next couple months. And surprisingly enough, one of the more entertaining films could end up being an Adam Sandler vehicle. Maybe I’m in the minority, but the trailers for the video game inspired action adventure comedy Pixels actually have me a little excited for this July release, despite the involvement of Sandler.

And if you’ve been wanting to know a little more about the film from director Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), a couple new featurettes have surfaced, diving into the 8-bit assault on Earth. Watch the Pixels featurettes after the jump! Read More »

Game of Thrones Musical

Not long after we saw Anna Kendrick star in a teaser for a female-led remake of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, we have some more amusing fun being teased for Red Nose Day. For those who don’t know, Red Nose Day is a comedy fundraiser that started in the United Kingdom and is making its way to the United States for the first time with a primetime special on NBC airing on Thursday, May 21st at 8pm Eastern. It’s a star-studded event featuring a slew of comedians, actors, musicians and more, and we just got another tease of something Game of Thrones fans will enjoy.

Peter Dinklage is teaming up with Coldplay to deliver a Game of Thrones musical, and NBC has unveiled a tease of the fan favorite actor singing a song about the various character deaths on the show. So if you happen to be way behind on HBO’s most popular show, beware of spoilers. Watch the Game of Thrones musical tease below!

Update: We’ve now got the full Game of Thrones musical production video, narrated by Liam Neeson.

Pixels trailer

By now, you probably know if you’re going to see Pixels or not. Directed by Chris Columbus, the film stars Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Kevin James and Michelle Monaghan as former video game champions who are asked to save the world when real life video game characters invade Earth. Think Independence Day starring the cast of The King of Kong.

If you still aren’t sure and are hoping for some new nugget to get excited about in this second Pixels trailer, it’s probably not going to do it. There is some new footage in here, including a bit with Kevin James killing a Smurf, as well as some background on the characters, but for the most part its the same few set pieces as the last trailer. The optimist in me is hoping Sony is simply holding back lots of other moments for the theater, but that tends not to be the case with the films of James and Sandler. Peter Dinklage in Knights of Badassdom

Much as we admire Peter Dinklage‘s ability to steal every scene he’s in, it kinda seems like he shouldn’t have to. It’s about time he got another chance to lead his own feature film. And what do you know, there’s one coming his way right now.

Paramount Pictures has set Adam Shankman to direct Dinklage in O’Lucky Day, a Bad Santa-esque comedy about a guy who tells people he’s a leprechaun. Get details on the Peter Dinklage leprechaun comedy after the jump. Read More »

Angry Birds movie cast

Much as an infuriated avian might send its own body crashing into a structure to get to some evil swine, Sony is throwing a very funny voice cast at its Angry Birds movie to win over the skeptics.

Jason Sudeikis has just been announced for the lead part of Red, with Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Peter Dinklage all set for co-starring roles. And those are just the major players — there about ten more notable names in smaller roles as well. Get details on the Angry Birds movie cast, and see the first photo, after the jump.
