flatliners trailer

Like any year, 2017 has had some truly excellent films, and then it’s also had some stinkers. As we approach the end of the year and enter awards season, get ready for more excellent films. For now, though, here come the summer runoffs – the films studios had no real faith in and dumped at the dead-end of September. Films like the Flatliners remake, which is now sitting at an uncomfortable 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, as the folks at MovieFone were kind enough to point out. Read more about the Flatliners negative reviews below.

flatliners trailer

From producer Michael Douglas comes a remake of Flatliners. Based on Joel Schumacher‘s 1990 film, the premise appears to be more or less the same with some modern touches. It’s a fine movie that doesn’t quite live up to its premise, so unlike a lot of cases, a remake here makes sense. So far, based on the marketing, it doesn’t look like Niels Arden Oplev‘s (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) movie is bringing a whole lot new to the table – except for a strong cast.

Below, watch the new Flatliners trailer.

xXx 3 trailer

“Kick some ass, get the girl, try to look dope while you’re doing it.” That’s the advice Augustus Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson) gives spy / extreme sports enthusiast (Vin Diesel) in the new trailer for xXx: Return of Xander Cage, and it’s really the appeal of this entire movie in a nutshell. Sometimes, you just want to watch a movie about a guy who kicks some ass, gets the girl, and tries to look dope while he’s doing it. Whether he succeeds at looking dope, of course, is the question, and that’s up for you to judge. Watch the xXx 3 trailer below.

The Final Girls poster

This weekend brings a wonderful meshing of horror and comedy with some real heart in the form of The Final Girls. The meta flick takes Taissa Farmiga and throws her into the world of the horror movie that her mother (Malin Akerman) made famous, making for a reunion that is simultaneously thrilling, touching and hilarious. It’s like Last Action Hero, but way better.

And to help get the word out about this seriously incredible movie that will be in limited theaters and available on VOD starting Friday, October 9th, we’ve got an exclusive batch of character posters designed by Alex Pardee, the brilliant artist who has delivered awesome work for The World’s End and Attack the Block previously.

Plus, if you need anymore convincing (other than the awesome trailer), director Todd Strauss-Schulson checked in with us to make sure you know that this movie is all about. And if that’s not enough, we had a great interview with him back in August that you should definitely take the time to read. Otherwise, check out The Final Girls posters below! Read More »

The Final girls trailer

I went into The Final Girls at SXSW this year having no idea what to expect from the horror/comedy Todd Strauss-Schulson. What I saw was a very funny comedy that has a good take on the tropes of slasher films, but also a movie that has a really effective core about dealing with difficult family trauma. The cast is led by Taissa Farmiga, Malin Akerman, and Nina Dobrev, with Alexander Ludwig, Alia Shawkat, Thomas Middleditch, and Adam Devine in major roles. Check out The Final Girls trailer here. Let's Be Cops Red-Band

In Let’s Be Cops, two friends discover a new (and highly illegal) way to get attention from the opposite sex. Two friends, one a douche and the other kind of a dork, dress up as cops for a costume party. They find, however, that people think they’re actually cops. And the reaction is pretty positive — especially from women who like a guy in uniform. And then things get messy. This new Let’s Be Cops red-band trailer shows how a couple real cops mistake the guys for officers, and the two dudes end up trying to solve an actual crime.

Luke Greenfield directed Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson in the lead roles, while Rob Riggle, Nina Dobrev, James D’Arcy and Andy Garcia round out the cast. Watch the new trailer below. Read More »

Cool Posts From Around the Web:

There was a moment where it looked like Emma Watson might not do much acting at all after the Harry Potter series ended, but she quickly shot a small part in My Week With Marilyn (now in post-production) and then took a role in the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, opposite Logan Lerman. That film is shooting now, and the young Mr. Lerman has sent out a few sneaky first looks at the film via Twitter. That’s a cropped look at one of them, above, and you can see a more full image after the break, along with a couple other images of the cast. Read More »
