Jo Nesbø’s best-selling 2008 thriller Headhunters was turned into a film that did quite well at festivals last year. Well enough, in fact, that rights to remake the picture were quickly snapped up by Summit, leading to Mark Wahlberg voicing his desire to take the lead role.

The film follows a successful corporate headhunter (Askel Hennie) who is deep in debt, and so has turned to stealing and selling art to maintain his lifestyle. When he goes after one particular painting, however, he discovers a secret that makes him a target for the sort of people we’d all rather avoid. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau of Game of Thrones plays a major role. It’s easy to see why Summit would be interested in a remake, but based on the footage we’ve seen so far I’d much rather just watch the original. Check out a US-tailored trailer after the break. Believe it or not, there’s just 34 days left to go until the second season premiere of HBO’s Game of Thrones. And as that date approaches, the teasers and trailers have been getting ever so slightly more revealing. The latest ditches the dramatic narration of the last two, so we get more dialogue this time around — and, consequently, a better idea of the struggles the characters will be facing in the upcoming season. Watch the video after the jump. (Spoilers for Season One follow, obviously.)

Though I was excited by the earlier teaser for Season 2 of HBO’s Game of Thrones, at the risk of sounding like a swooning fangirl, I have to say that even that pales in comparison to this new trailer. This time around, it’s Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) who takes over narrating duties, explaining exactly who everyone is and what they’re doing — without actually revealing anything at all, of course. Tricky eunuch bastard. Naturally, Golden Globe and Emmy winner Peter Dinklage gets some good face time as well. Watch the video after the jump. (Warning: Spoilers for Season 1 follow.)

Now this is more like it. The first teaser we got for Season 2 of HBO’s Game of Thrones revealed absolutely nothing about the upcoming season, and though we’ve gotten some better looks since then — thanks to some behind-the-scenes production videos and a handful of set photos — it’s great to finally have a proper teaser with dramatic shots of the characters and landscapes to go with the requisite ominous voiceover.

Given that Season 2 will be based on A Clash of Kings, Book 2 of George R.R. Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire series, it seems entirely appropriate that the narration in this teaser comes from one of the men determined to win the Iron Throne for himself: the brittle, humorless Stannis Baratheon, played by Stephen Dillane. Watch the trailer after the jump. (Warning: Major spoilers for Season 1/Book 1 ahead.)

Two guys who use their heads for very different things are the stars of Headhunters and Aardvark, another pair of films playing at Fantastic Fest 2011. Headhunters is about a job recruiter who also steals art on the side. He is forced to use all his wit and skill to compete against his latest mark, played by the man best known as Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. As for Aardvark, Larry Lewis Jr. is a real-life blind man who plays himself in a movie that combines his aptitude for jiujitsu, inability to see and a murder mystery. Read about each after the jump. Jessica Chastain seems to be all over the place this fall. She made her debut this summer in Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life, and is on screens now or soon in The Help, The Debt, Take Shelter, Coriolanus, Wilde Salome and Texas Killing Fields. Quite a lineup for an actress that no one could have identified a year or two ago.

She’s still booking new roles, too. One of her most recently announced gigs is Mama, a feature-length expansion of a short film by Andres Muschietti, who wrote and directed the short. And now Chastain will be joined by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones. Guillermo del Toro is producing the film. Read More »
