Night at the Museum 3 trailer

One of Robin Williams‘ final movies features a monkey saving Owen Wilson from a lava flow by pissing on the hot stuff — and on Wilson. But hey, it’s comedy, and a little urine comes with the territory. That footage is in this new Night at the Museum 3 trailer, along with some other stuff we’ve seen before. But there’s also more of Lancelot here, and also more antics in general as the collection of brought-to-life museum exhibits, led by former security guard Ben Stiller, tries to figure out why the magic that animates these characters is starting to fail. (Hey, is that a metaphor for franchise moviemaking?)

The art above is the production logo for That’s What I’m Talking About, the new film from Richard Linklater. We’re stretching the definition of “sequel bits” just a little here, but the movie has been called a “spiritual sequel” to Dazed and Confused. Linklater started production on the movie this week, and that image is in celebration of the ongoing production.

  • The Woman in Black – Angel of Death gets a new US release date,
  • James Wan talks about Fast & Furious 7,
  • Producers suggest there’s a plan for a new Saw film in 2016,
  • A new Horrible Bosses 2 poster goes online,
  • As does a Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb poster,
  • And James Cameron talks Terminator.

Night at the Museum 3 stairs

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb opens December 19 and it’ll be the third and final film in the trilogy. Directed by Shawn Levy, the films star Ben Stiller as a museum security guard who discovers everything in the museum comes to life after hours. In this third film, the group – which includes characters played by Robin Williams, Owen Wilson and Steven Coogan  - travel to London when the artifact that makes their nightly lives begins to decay.

The first few images from the film have now been released, including glimpses of Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, The Guest) as Sir Lancelot and the revelation the film goes out of the museum and onto the streets.
