Last we reported, Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury had been waxed off the final cut of Iron Man, but fortunately that’s not the case. As MovieHole points out, Fury/Jackson does appear but not until after the surefire blockbuster’s end credits. He also delivers some spoiler-worthy dialogue [Slashfilm pistol fires in air], which we have after the jump. Because I can’t help myself, Peter says Iron Man is hot sh*t. Here’s what Australian journo, Adam Richard, told the Hole…

“Sam Jackson as Nick Fury is indeed in Iron Man. The final spool of the film was not screened to journos and reviewers as it only arrived in Australia yesterday ahead of premiere screenings. I saw the film a few weeks ago to prep for a Downey Jr interview, and went again last night (cos i loved it SOOOO much!) and at the end of the credits is an awesome 40 seconds or so with Stark and Nick Fury. I may have soiled myself slightly…”

So, what does it take from a Nick Fury cameo to make a grown man in Australia (which was notoriously founded by criminals and derelicts) nearly defecate himself? We’ve posted a spoiler description after the jump. Before we get to that, be a pal and shout out to your fellow clueless moviegoers that Fury appears. Or be a cool guy and just smirk in the dark. Decisions, decisions…

Our previous item on the rumor that a scene(s) has been cut from The Dark Knight showing (Spoiler warning…) Heath Ledger’s Joker in a body bag is now up to a sweet 130 comments. The majority of Slashfilm readers feel quite passionately that it’s a slight to Heath Ledger, the film, fans and Christopher Nolan to remove anything. Personally, I won’t put myself in the odd and trivial position of decrying, “It’s what Ledger would have wanted!” but the adamance here on the site is quite punk rock and impressive, really. Moviehole now reports that a source close to the production says not a damn thing will be changed in the final film come July…

”I KNOW for a fact that that scene is in the film. I also know that WB has made no such mandate and that Chris [Nolan] is honest when saying that he will not change what was intended with The Joker.”

So, if the source is right, it’s raining goodness for countless Slash readers this Saturday.

Sidenote: Clint at MH also reports that he’s seen Iron Man, and while he doesn’t give up any good/bad details, he confirms that Sam Jackson‘s Nick Fury is not in the flick.

Discuss: Happy? TDK is going to hit like a friggin’ sledgehammer. What else needs to be said.

Buried in this report covering yesterday’s Wizard World convention in L.A. is the news via a panel that Samuel L. Jackson may not have a cameo as Marvel character Nick Fury in Iron Man after all. Nearly a year ago AICN reported the casting news as a definite for the summer blockbuster, and since then everyone from Avi Arad to Jackson to director Jon Favreau has reluctantly nodded “yes.” Even IMDB and Wikipedia have it listed as fact. Top that!

The panel, which consisted of Wizard‘s Ricky Purdin and Toyfare‘s Adam Tracy, maintained that Jackson is still Nick Fury and seemed to imply that the footage with Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. might appear elsewhere. CHUD just sprinkled their ellipses, and we’ll throw out a giant …but where?! as well. Moreover, the panel confirmed that a crossover between The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man is still happening as rumored.

So, would the Fury cameo pop up on the Iron Man DVD? That’s no way to launch a character that has an individual action tent pole film scheduled in the next couple years. Might it be used in promotional materials? Promoting what? Coolness? Will it appear in The Incredible Hulk? On one hand that seems like too much “Uma, Oprah” crossover, but could turn out great. Cutting room floor? Gasp. Somewhere Jackson chews on a cigar and laughs at his laptop. More on this if it develops…

Discuss: Whaaa happen? Throw some guesses in the Easter basket. And who’s the ideal director to realize a Nick Fury flick starring Jackson?
