Earlier this week, sources indicated that the cut of Logan all the critics saw over the weekend didn’t have a post-credits scene. However, a couple days after that, there was a change in the film’s runtime. 20th Century Fox updated the length of Logan so that it was about three minutes longer than the cut that screened for critics. Then came confirmation that the extension of the runtime was due to a post-credits scene being included, or so we thought.
The same source that previously confirmed the existence of a Logan credits scene has since rescinded that story. But in the same breath, they indicate that while those extra few minutes won’t be spent on a credits scene, fans will still get some kind of treat before the movie starts. Production on the X-Men spin-off New Mutants is rumored to begin in April or May this year with The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone at the helm. 20th Century Fox hasn’t made any official announcement about the project, but there have been plenty of details that have surfaced. Now one of those details seems to have been confirmed by Josh Boone himself.
Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has been linked to the cast of New Mutants, though no word on her involvement has been confirmed by anyone. Josh Boone may have just done that though by sharing a piece of art featuring the actress as Rahne Sinclair, the mutant who comes to be known as Wolfsbane, due to the fact that she can transform into a wolf.

Despite the fact that New Mutants is supposed to start shooting within the next few months, there’s still not a whole lot we know about it. In news that will probably come as no surprise to anyone, 20th Century Fox’s New Mutants is envisioned as the first in a series. Josh Boone, who is directing and co-writing the X-Men spinoff, revealed he pitched a whole New Mutants trilogy — though of course, the studio will probably want to wait and see how the first one is shaping up before ordering any more.
Oh, and speaking of that first film, Boone dropped a little hint about what we can expect. Last month we got word Demon Bear was likely to be the villain of New Mutants, and now Boone’s new comments suggest that is indeed the case. Read More »
