Ghostbusters Holtzmann gay

This summer has served up all sorts of expensive, extravagant spectacles. We’ve traveled to far-flung fantasy realms, battled ghouls and ghosts of every stripe, witnessed multiple animals endangering human lives by driving trucks, and cheered on more superhero-on-superhero pileups than you can shake a supernaturally powered scepter at. One thing we haven’t gotten a lot of, though? LGBTQ characters. Instead, what we have seen are a number of characters like Ghostbusters‘ Jillian Holtzmann, who slink right up to the edge, but then stop just short of coming out.

neighbors 2 clip

The first Neighbors was such a pleasant surprise that I can’t help but slightly dread Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. After all, you’d need to borrow the hands of your family and friends if you wanted to count every lousy sequel to a great comedy. To its credit, the follow-up to one of 2014’s biggest comedies did get the whole gang back together, with stars Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Zac Efron back in front of the camera and director Nicholas Stoller behind it. Is this a case where my dread is misplaced?

Maybe. After all, I did chuckle at the new clip from the film Universal just released, which is a good sign.

Neighbors 2 Red Band Trailer

Next month brings an epic battle in the form of Captain America: Civil War, but a few weeks later, an even crazier face-off will take place, and it’s going to have a lot more dildos. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising has Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne facing yet another college nightmare, as a wild sorority moves in next door just when they are about to finalize a deal on selling their house.

Of course, they call in Zac Efron to try to take them down, but he just might not be enough. That’s when they decide to call in some more parents to see if they can wrangle in their kids. One of those parents just happens to be LL Cool J, and he finds a few things that belong to his daughter that he would have been better off not knowing about. See what I mean in the new Neighbors 2 red band trailer, which is obviously NSFW. Read More »

Lena Dunham Neighbors 2 Cameo

Perhaps one of the most divisive talents working today is Lena Dunham. As the creator and star of Girls, she’s been responsible for creating some of the most oblivious, frivolous, petty characters on television. But there’s something that’s still very appealing about the show, and it has captured the attention of the masses, and seems to be the voice of a generation. And that’s likely why she was recruited for a little cameo in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.

The bad news is that Lena Dunham ended up on the cutting room floor of the sequel starring Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and Zac Efron, and we won’t be seeing her when the comedy arrives this summer. Thankfully, she shared a photo from behind the scenes that shows the scene she would have been part of, and it features her dressed as Joan of Arc, tied to a funeral pyre. See the Lena Dunham Neighbors 2 cameo photo after the jump. Read More »

Neighbors 2 trailer

The first Neighbors pitted new parents Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) against the fraternity next door, led by Teddy (Zac Efron). In the sequel, the couple finds themselves enlisting their the help of their old nemesis to fight what might be an even bigger threat: a sorority next door.

Chloë Grace Moretz, Kiersey Clemons, and Beanie Feldstein play three of the ladies of Kappa Nu, who aren’t about to let a little thing like furious neighbors stop them from throwing epic ragers. Adding to the pain this time is the fact that the girls are, well, girls. “With the sorority girls, it’s like a glimpse into their daughter’s future, and it terrifies them,” Byrne has said. So what exactly has the Radners so spooked? Find out with the first Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising trailer after the jump.

UPDATE: An international trailer for Neighbors 2 has just hit, and you can watch it below.

Neighbors 2 Photo

Shirtless in short shorts sounds like the porn parody of Sleepless in Seattle about 22 years too late, but it’s actually the best way to describe the way Seth Rogen and Zac Efron appear in our first look at the comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Following up the 2014 summer comedy from Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller, the movie sees Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne facing a new challenging neighbor, and it looks like plenty of partying is in store for this installment as well.
