Say Anything tv series

NBC’s Say Anything… TV show may crash and burn before it even gets off the ground. Cameron Crowe, who directed the original 1989 movie, learned about the planned sequel series along with the rest of the world yesterday — and it seems he’d none too thrilled about it.

Legally, network NBC and producer 20th Century Fox TV are allowed to forge ahead without his approval. But a new report indicates they’re unlikely to do so. Get all the latest details on the Say Anything… TV series after the jump.

UPDATE: The Say Anything… TV series is now officially dead, according to Deadline. Writer Justin Kaplan and producer Aaron Kaplan dropped out after hearing of Crowe’s objections, and 20th Century Fox TV subsequently pulled the plug. Original story follows.

Peter Pan tv show

Not content with sending Marnie from Girls to battle Christopher Walken on live TV, NBC is doubling down on its Peter Pan addiction with an unrelated new TV series.

The network is developing Wendy and Peter, a half-hour comedy based loosely on J.M. Barrie’s classic characters. Except instead of an early 20th century girl and a magical orphan, they’ll be co-workers in a modern-day office. Hit the jump for more about NBC’s Peter Pan TV series. Read More »

Parks and Recreation - Season 5

Just because something is fun to watch doesn’t mean it was fun to make, as gossip rags are all too happy to tell you. But there’s something about NBC’s Parks and Recreation that makes us think this cast might actually be as delightful on set as they are on screen. Now, the Parks and Recreation Season 6 gag reel confirms those suspicions.

In the ten-minute video, Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, Chris Pratt, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza and more take turns messing up, teasing each other, and just generally look like they’re having a good time. Plus, you get to see Ann and Chris again, and even Lil’ Sebastian stops by for an appearance. Watch the Parks and Recreation Season 6 gag reel after the jump.

The Devils Advocate tv series

NBC’s last attempt at rebooting an old property involving Satan didn’t go so great, but they’re going to try again anyway. Hannibal Season 3 details

Bryan Fuller may not be quite at George R.R. Martin‘s level when it comes to killing off beloved characters, but Hannibal is still a show about a serial killer. It should come as no surprise that from time to time, characters get shot in the face, chopped into pieces, or braised in a nice wine sauce.

What is shocking is that sometimes, those characters nevertheless find ways to come back. At the Hannibal Comic-Con panel Thursday, Fuller confirmed the returns of two fan favorite characters believed to be dead. Hit the jump to find out who, and to get some more details on Hannibal Season 3. (Be aware the spoilers follow.)

Update: We’ve added video of the full Comic Con panel (minus footage clips) for Hannibal.

Crossbones trailer

As we’ve seen over the past few years, Disney’s had some trouble getting a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie off the ground. In the meantime, though, TV’s been more than happy to fill that watery niche — first with Starz’s Black Sails, and now with NBC’s Crossbones.

The Peacock has just released the first Crossbones trailer, which stars John Malkovich as the legendary pirate Blackbeard. As if that’s not promising enough, Crossbones also happens to be the creation of Neil Cross, who was behind the acclaimed British drama Luther. Watch the video after the jump.
