National Treasure 2: Page 47 of the Book of Secrets Revealed
Posted on Thursday, December 20th, 2007 by Peter Sciretta
In National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Nicolas Cage’s character Ben Gates is after the President of the United States’ book of secrets, an unofficial book which contains the answers for the biggest coverups in American history. In addition to his mission to restore his family’s name, Gates is advised by the President of the United States to “read Page 47″. And of course, the information which is contained on Page 47 is never revealed, setting up a possible third film. Someone posed the question to director Jon Turteltaub at the film’s press day, and here is his answer:
“I’ll tell you, what is on page 47 is I think the single greatest secret in America today… which is… the plot of Star Trek.”
Now that’s funny.

Final National Treasure: Book of Secrets Movie Trailer
Posted on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 by Peter Sciretta

I get crap fro all my movie critic and intellectual friends for saying this, but I really enjoyed the first National Treasure. I’m sure I’ll even get some flack in the comments for saying so. It was a fun, sit back, relax, much on some popcorn, sip on some soda, no need to think, type of movie. And sure, the concept was completely stolen from Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code novels, but who really cares? To be honest, National Treasure was a far more entertaining movie than Ron Howard’s adaptation of the Code. I also must admit that the first trailer for Disney’s sequel National Treasure: Book of Secrets worried me. It looked bad, but not in a good way. Thankfully, the second full length trailer which hit the interwebs tonight is a much better cut. My only complaint right now is that, much like a lot of trailers, it probably shows too much. You can check out this new trailer below.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets Movie Trailer
Posted on Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 by Peter Sciretta

The National Treasure: Book of Secrets trailer which Disney premiered at Comic-Con 2007 is now available online. As we previously reported, the new trailer reveals a lot more about the plot of the film:
A missing page from John Wilkes Booth’s diary reveals that treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage)’s great grandfather might have actually been the one responsible for Lincoln’s assassination. Gates begins a mission to clear his family’s name. To do that he must kidnap the president of the United States to get access to a secret book that is for the president’s eyes only. The book also has the truth about Area 51 and the missing minutes in the Watergate tapes.
I really enjoyed the first film, but a plot that involves kidnapping the President of the United States seems way too ridiculous. Check out the trailer after the jump.
Nicolas Cage to Kidnap the President in National Treasure 2
Posted on Saturday, July 28th, 2007 by Peter Sciretta

Disney premiered the new movie trailer for National Treasure: Book of Secrets at Comic-Con 2007. The new trailer revealed much more about the film’s plot.
Despite it’s ridiculous premise, National Treasure was a fun action flick. The plot for Book of Treasures seems to up the ante, and not in a good way. Stealing the declaration of independence is at least possible (maybe), but to kidnap the President of the United States?

Earlier today the first photos were supposedly leaked online from Indiana Jones 4. Check them out after the jump. While they may look super real, we refused to publish them because we knew something was a bit off. And now we know - the photos are actually from National Treasure 2 (National Treasure: Book of Secrets). Still interesting, just not as interesting.
