First Look: Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper in ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’

Soon after making his dark relationship indie Blue Valentine, Derek Cianfrance co-wrote a movie called The Place Beyond the Pines, which he says was inspired by Jack London and features two generations of conflicting fathers and sons, as well as motorcycles and guns.

His Blue Valentine star Ryan Gosling signed on to be a motorcycle rider who turns to crime — yeah, shades of Drive there — and is pursued by a rookie cop (Bradley Cooper). Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne, Ben Mendelsohn, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Ray Liotta also joined the cast. International Movie Trailer: Predators

This is the trailer Fox should have released in the first place. We’ve seen one domestic trailer for Nimrod Antal‘s Predators, produced by Robert Rodriguez based on his story treatment, and a load of clips and photos. But none of the materials have shown the movie a lot of people hope this will be. This international vaguely red-band trailer does. It makes Predators look like exactly the tense, violent sci-fi adventure it should be. Read More »

Adrien Brody Nabs the Lead in Predators; Topher Grace May Be In, Too

Well, I definitely didn’t see this coming. Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal have cast Adrien Brody in one of the lead roles for Predators. We also now know a few more minor members of the cast for the upcoming visit to the Predator planet, and there’s a last-minute report that Topher Grace is negotiating to join the cast, too.
