Fans of FX’s Louie will no doubt be thrilled to check out this unrevealing but artsy teaser for the show’s third season, but it’s Showtime that steals most of the spotlight in today’s TV Bits. The premium cable network has a new poster for Episodes, a new teaser for Homeland, and possibly even a new love interest for Dexter. Also after the jump:

I wasn’t planning to write about Gallery1988′s first annual “Is This Thing On” art show as it really has little connection to movies or television (or so I thought… the above piece featuring Judd Apatow mashed-up with the infamous Star Trek Tribbles episode is a fine example of this). The show, co-sponsored by FunnyOrDie, features over 100 artists, each creating pieces that are portraits of their favorite funny people, both beloved comics of yesteryear and emerging superstars.

Louis CK’s Hilarious was one of my favorite films at the Sundance film festival this year. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been reduced, so thoroughly, to a useless pile of tear-filled laughter than when I watched this concert film. For months now, I’ve been wondering whatever became of Hilarious, but fortunately I’ve had Louis’ wonderful FX show to tide me over in the meantime.
Today, I discovered that Epix HD is now streaming Hilarious online for FREE. All you need to do is head on over to their website and request an invite code by entering your e-mail address (they’ll send you something for confirmation). Then, just go and watch the film! Check it out, laugh your ass off, then let us know what you thought of it in the comments below.
Variety reports that comedian Louis C.K. has quietly shot a pilot for FX. Provisionally titled Louie, the trade says the show is based on Louis C.K.’s current life as a divorced father of two. Actors play his ex-wife, kids and friends, and episodes in the show would be built from both stand-up routines and sketches. The show sounds a lot like Lucky Louie, C.K.’s previous show which ran on HBO. It had a similar ‘based on reality’ structure, though I expect the new show could be slightly less confrontational. An international trailer has arrived at Yahoo UK for The Invention of Lying, once called The Other Side of the Truth, and while the new title is lame, the trailer has great moments. The film, written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Matthew Robinson, stars Gervais as a man in a world where no one lies. Ever. At all. Period. Until the day when Gervais realizes how to lie, which turns his world around.
