
Here’s the warning up front: if you prefer to learn some of the character and story points of Ridley Scott‘s sorta-Alien prequel Prometheus only through the eventual trailer and film release, beware of what follows. There aren’t big super-serious spoilers below, but there might be a tidbit or two you don’t want to know yet.
Damon Lindelof, brought on to the project by Ridley Scott and who ended up rewriting the Alien prequel script that Jon Spaihts had penned, is well versed in keeping secrets. Details about Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus have been kept under such tight wraps that after years of reporting on the project, we still don’t have a whole lot of specifics on what it’s actually about. Even the official synopsis posted by Fox a few months back gave away next to nothing in terms of plot; it confirmed only that the film would be a “science fiction epic” about a group of characters taking some kind of journey to an unspecified world.
So we’re very intrigued to see that a new synopsis has been unveiled, which gives away just a little bit more about the storyline and may confirm an earlier rumor. Read more after the jump.

The last time we checked in on casting for The Bourne Legacy, it seemed that basically every male actor under a certain age was being considered for the lead. Now it looks like casting is narrowing down a bit as the film moves forward. We can’t say for sure which names have been eliminated, but we do know which actors are scheduled for screen tests at the moment: Joel Edgerton, Dominic Cooper, Luke Evans and Garrett Hedlund (who, along with Alex Pettyfer, seems to be up for every major role in Hollywood these days). Another relative unknown with a familiar face has been cast in Ridley Scott‘s maybe Alien-spin-off Prometheus. Logan Marshall-Green, recently seen in Devil but who also started in Brooklyn’s Finest and on The OC, has been cast as Holloway, a crew member on the ship and love interest for Noomi Rapace, who plays the main character Elizabeth Shaw. Marshall-Green now joins a cast that includes Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Rafe Spall among others. Read more after the break. Read More »
