Kingsman: The Secret Service was one of the most pleasant surprises of 2014, a wild reinvention of old school spy movie imagery that never spared the gore while ruthlessly satirizing just about anything remotely connected to modern politics and espionage. It’s a messy movie, but it’s the best kind of messy – it has so much on its plate and so many targets in its sights that it moves breathlessly from one bizarre idea to another.
And it had a high body count, with large swaths of the original cast not living to see the credits roll. And now, a long-simmering rumor associated with the sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, has been seemingly confirmed: a certain dead character will somehow make it back for the sequel. This feels like the kind of reveal that will inevitably surface in a trailer, but proceed with caution and consider this a spoiler warning.

The downside of Game of Thrones‘ pull-no-punches unpredictability is that it’s really easy to fall in love with a character, only to see them suddenly disappear from the show. But the upside of that is that it frees up Game of Thrones actors to pop up in other cool projects. Like Pedro Pascal, who once played fan favorite Oberyn Martell, and who is now set to co-star in Matthew Vaughn‘s Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Read More »

There’s a whole lot about Kingsman: The Golden Circle that sounds new. Eggsy (Taron Egerton) will be heading across the pond to America for this new adventure, meeting new friends (like Ginger, played by Halle Berry) and new foes (like Poppy, played by Julianne Moore) along the way. But there’ll be a few familiar elements as well, including Merlin (Mark Strong). And the first Kingsman 2 poster suggests another old friend has joined the fray.
(Spoilers ahead, though it doesn’t look like the marketing team is exactly going out of its way to keep this particular plot point under wraps.) Read More »

Ever since the success of Kingsman: The Secret Service, a followup has been inevitable, but whether we’d see Colin Firth in The Kingsman sequel has been up in the air.
