Kingsman The Golden Circle reviews

Saving the world generally doesn’t look as fun as it used to in spy movies. Looking cool and having a blast has gone out of fashion for some of cinema’s spies – with the notable exception of Xander Cage – who tend to have more inner-turmoil than a good time. They’re sometimes brooding, tortured, and self-serious – which are not the words to describe Eggsy (Taron Edgerton) and the world of Kingsman, born from Mark Millar and Dave Gibbon‘s comic.

Screenwriters Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn adapted the source material with glee. That feeling of all-around giddiness comes from the spy movies Goldman and Vaughn, who’ve worked together for over a decade, grew up loving. With Kingsman: The Secret Service and its new sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the co-writers want to celebrate spy tropes, not poke fun at them, as Goldman recently told us.

Below, check out our Jane Goldman interview.

kingsman 3

Matthew Vaughn‘s latest, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, smashes its way into theaters this weekend. The early word has not been overly kind, nor have they been devastating. “[An] exhausting, exhilarating watch,” seems to be the biggest takeaway from the film, and 20th Century Fox wants to keep that exhilaration alive while turning it into box office returns. If you’re someone who wants more Kingsman in their lives, you’re in luck, because Matthew Vaughn wants to make Kingsman 3 and then some spin-offs to boot. Are you prepared for more well-dressed people shooting guns at each other?

Kingsman The Golden Circle reviews

Kingsman: The Secret Service was a nice surprise back in 2015, and the new sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, looks to expand director Matthew Vaughn‘s cinematic spy-verse in a big way by adding a ton of A-list stars to the cast and taking the action overseas. So do those decisions make this an entertaining, worthwhile addition to the franchise, or has Vaughn bitten off more than he can chew here?

Find out what the critics are saying in excerpts from a handful of Kingsman The Golden Circle reviews culled from around the web.

Blockbuster summer may be over, but there’s still a big dose of action coming this month in the form of the comic book sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Kingsman The Golden Circle TV Spots

We’re just under a month from the return of Kingsman, the British secret agent organization that saved the world from a diabolical scheme involving mind control. This time there’s a new threat who strikes a crushing blow against Kingsman, leaving them without a headquarters and in desperate need of allies. That’s where Statesman comes in

Kingsman: The Golden Circle has Kingsman taking refuge with their American cousins known as Statesman, who operate out of a whiskey distillery. Both organizations were founded at the same time, and working together may be the only way to stop a deadly new villain. However, even though Kingsman and Statesman must work together, it’s clear there are some differences that make for a somewhat confrontational working environment. You’ll see what I mean in a batch of new Kingsman The Golden Circle TV spots below. Read More »

kingsman the golden circle to be projected in 270 degree format

Film formats will keep evolving until they swallow us whole and spit us out as a mass of pixels. Probably. Maybe. It certainly feels that way with the insane format that Kingsman: The Golden Circle is being converted to and projected in.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be projected ScreenX’s 270-degree panoramic experience. That’s three walls in an auditorium. It’s like if VR had eaten a Super Mario mushroom and blown up to the side of a whole theater.

Kingsman Whiskey - Kingsman: The Golden Circle

When the Kingsman: The Golden Circle came to San Diego Comic-Con back in July, not only did it come with a bunch of footage from the comic book sequel directed by Matthew Vaughn, but it also came with an interesting cross-promotion for fans who are 21 and older (at least in the United States).

In the United Kingdom, the cover for the Kingsman agency is a tailor shop. But in the United States, their American cousin agency, the Statesman, operate a whiskey distillery. Vaughn found this the perfect opportunity to create his own brand of Statesman whiskey (which Halle Berry chugged a pint of at Comic-Con) in collaboration with the Old Forester whiskey distillery. But that won’t be the only Kingsman whiskey on the market.

The GlenDronach Distillery has announced their own Kingsman Edition whiskey as a cross-promotion with 20th Century Fox, Marv Films and Aberdeenshire distillery. You can find out more about both whiskeys below and see a new international poster for the sequel as well. Read More »
