Is Kill Bill Volume 3 ever coming down the pipeline? Don’t count on it. Although Quentin Tarantino‘s been floating the possibility for a long time, he seems far less enthusiastic about the project these days. The news shouldn’t come as too much of a shocker. Tarantino’s notorious for talking up projects that never get made, and there’s been little progress on Kill Bill 3 over the past several years. Hit the jump to read his words.

Kill Bill Executive Producer E. Bennet Walsh is now claiming that writer/director Quentin Tarantino has formulated the plots for two sequels which he plans to film in China. According to our friends at FilmIck, Kill Bill: Volume 3 would be the revenge story of two Crazy 88s killers whose arms and eyes were hacked by Uma Thurman in the first volume. Kill Bill Volume 4 would than focus on the battle between the daughters of Beatrix Kiddo and Vernita Green, an idea which Tarantino had been very vocal about during the film’s theatrical release.
Tarantino is one of those writer/directors who likes to talk about 100 different ideas for upcoming projects, most of which will never happen. But it’s surprising to see a producer talk about these ideas like they are being prepped for production. I’m pretty sure nothing is going to happen, at least any time soon. Last time we spoke to Tarantino at the Grindhouse Junket, he told us that Inglorious Bastards would be his next project. But then again, things could have changed. Getting an epic World War II movie off the ground isn’t an easy task, even for Tarantino (especially coming off the box office failure of Grindhouse). But I’m all for some more Kill Bill movies, I just wish Tarantino would stop with the genre homages and do something more original and groundbreaking.
