Results trailer

Results came out of Sundance this year, and shows director Andrew Bujalski (Funny Ha HaMutual Appreciation) moving into more polished comedy than the very low-key films that originally made his name. This one stars Guy Pearce, Cobie Smulders, and Kevin Corrigan as an unlikely trio who are united by Corrigan’s neediness and depression after a divorce. And that sounds pretty heavy, but this first Results trailer makes the story look bitterly funny, with a particularly good turn from Smulders.  Read More »

This trailer made me laugh. In Somebody Up There Likes Me, which originally premiered last year at SXSW, Nick Offerman of Parks & Rec. plays an ascerbic but good-natured guy who… well, it’s possible that he doesn’t actually do a whole lot other than comment drily on things taking place around him. But since it’s Offerman, I can’t say I’m too upset about that.

Triple H

WWE Studios announced today that Kevin Corrigan (American Gangster), Ariel Winter (“Modern Family”) and Annabeth Gish (“The West Wing”) have joined WWE® Superstar Paul “Triple H” Levesque (who had a small role in Blade: Trinity) in the cast of the studios’ upcoming comedy,  The Chaperone.

Triple H plays ex-con Ray Bradstone, a former getaway driver determined to turn his life around and establish a relationship with his estranged daughter Sally. Stephen Herek (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, The Mighty Ducks, Criters, 101 Dalmations, Holy Man, Rock Star) will direct the film from a screenplay by playwright S.J. Roth. The film will begin principal photography today in and around New Orleans, Louisiana. Read the full press release after the jump.

On The Road With Judas is a movie based on a book (of the same name) which stars actors playing characters playing characters from the book and actors playing actors playing characters from the book. Not only does the film timeshift, jumping through the years but it also jumps back and fourth between scenes and a talk show set where the actors and characters are being interviewed about the book which is being filmed as a movie.
