Nurse 3D Header

More than two years have passed since we caught our first glimpse at a sultry and bloody Paz De La Huerta in Nurse 3D. The production company released a poster before production even began, promising a 2012 release. Well it’s almost 2014 and there’s still been no sign of the film, directed by Douglas Aarniokoski. Until today.

A trailer for Nurse 3D is now online and features turns from Katrina Bowden, Corbin Bleu, Judd Nelson and even Kathleen Turner. It follows an obsessive nurse who starts killing people while skimpily dressed, and it opens February 7, 2014. Read More »

As someone who was almost the same age as the central characters when the first American Pie was released in 1999, I am totally, unironically excited to see the East Great Falls crew together again for American Reunion, even as I suspect I’ll find the franchise has lost some of its charm over the past decade. Still, the marketing so far has been pretty solid, and I’m thrilled to see that even as some things have changed — they’re no longer virgins, for one — others have remained exactly the same.

The new international trailer sees returning stars Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari, Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid, John Cho, Eugene Levy, and Jennifer Coolidge all coming back home for the all-important high school reunion, while franchise newcomers Dania Ramirez and Katrina Bowden make appearances as well. ‘Piranha 3DD’ Scream Awards Teaser Trailer

Here’s the first teaser footage from Dimension’s Piranha 3DD, the sequel to Alexandre Aja’s revival of the Piranha series. If this teaser is to be believed, Feast director John Gulager hasn’t changed the formula at all, so this sequel has some sort of story (featuring David Hasselhoff) partially pushed to the background as another group of partying bikini-clad beach babes gets chewed up by hungry prehistoric fish.

We see a glimpse of returning actors Christopher Lloyd and Ving Rhames, the latter of which comes bearing a Robert Rodriguez touch. That, and the whole tone of this teaser, makes Piranha 3DD look like something that might appeal to anyone who enjoyed the low-brow silliness of the last movie. In other words, this is exactly what you expect it to be. Oh, and it is mildly NSFW, as the title suggests. Read More »

Stacy Keach is the latest actor added to the growing cast of Tony Gilroy‘s The Bourne Legacy, which stars Jeremy Renner as a new ultra-capable agent who emerges from the same training program that created Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne. We don’t know Keach’s role, but do know that he will play alongside (or against) Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton in the film that acts as a parallel storyline to the three existing Bourne films. [Variety]

After the break, you’ll find information about Forest Whitaker’s role as one of the two leads of a voodoo thriller, and Katrina Bowden joins the Paz de la Huerta exploitation picture Nurse 3D. Read More »

We’re already aware of many of the plot points that’ll be covered in American Reunion, the forthcoming eighth(!) installment of the American Pie franchise. Basically, the new film will see the whole gang from the first film come together once more for their high school reunion. Some things will have changed; other things not so much. (I’m going to guess that the gross, raunchy humor will be part of the “not so much” category.)

Now a new synopsis has been revealed, and it reveals just one more tidbit: Apparently, one of the characters is still pining for a certain lusty lady whom he bedded in the original American Pie. (Um, spoilers for a twelve-year-old movie.) Read the studio-approved official plot details after the jump.

Tucker & Dale Vs Evil premiered at Sundance 2010, and despite earning a lot of fans with the performances of Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine and the comedy and horror mix that writer/director Eli Craig offered up, the film has been in distribution limbo ever since.

That changes now, as Magnet has announced that it will distribute the film at the end of this summer, with an August 26 VOD bow and a September 30 theatrical opening. Full plot info (via the press release) is after the break along with an early trailer. We’ll give you whatever trailer Magnet concocts as soon as it is available. Read More »

First thought upon hearing the plot for the just-announced comedy Save the Date: “another goddamn wedding movie?” First thought after seeing the cast: “I can’t believe I’m going to be excited to see another goddamn wedding movie!” The script focuses on two sisters and their approaches to life and marriage: “one who’s happy with the status quo and doesn’t see any reason to marry her musician boyfriend while the other’s obsessed with planning her upcoming wedding.” (Melancholia much?)

But the cast is already impressive: Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men) and Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls, Party Down) play the sisters and Marin Starr (Adventureland, Party Down), Geoffrey Arend (Super Troopers) and Mark Weber (Scott Pilgrim) are the supporting cast we’ve got so far. And I don’t need any more than that — ticket sold. The script is by graphic novelist Jeffrey Brown, and Mike Mohan will direct the film in July in LA. [Variety]

After the break, the odd legal drama Live at the Foxes Den gets more names, as does, inevitably, American Reunion. Read More »
