If you adore films about people who are trapped in an enclosed space and forced to fight to the death, as the fates of their loved ones hangs in the balance, you probably went out of your way to see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire this past weekend. If you then walked out of the theater disappointed because it wasn’t nearly bloody and gritty and grown-up enough, then Raze may be the film for you.
Directed by Josh C. Waller, this action-horror stars Zoë Bell (Death Proof) and Rachel Nichols as two women who are abducted and wake to find themselves in a concrete bunker with 48 other women. They then realize that they must kill the others, because if they refuse to fight or lose, their families will suffer. Tracie Thoms, Doug Jones, Sherilyn Fenn, and Bruce Thomas also star. Before his tragic death last month, Glee star Cory Monteith had wrapped two indies to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The trailer for one of these, Josh C. Waller‘s McCanick, has just hit the web.
In it, Monteith plays Simon Weeks, who’s fresh off a stint in prison and in possession of a very dangerous secret. David Morse stars as the short-tempered cop who years ago helped put him away, and now is desperate to make sure Simon doesn’t tell what he knows. Watch the video after the jump.

Elijah Wood fans have lots to be happy about today. First up, he’s set to star in The Late Bloomer, the directorial debut of frequent Wilfred director Randall Einhorn, which tells the true story of a 30 year old man who goes through puberty in a matter of weeks. In addition, Wood has teamed up with Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller to form The Woodshed, an independent production label that’ll produce and distrubute genre films.
