Fox is pushing this a little far at this point, but with the release of the third tease for the trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus, we at least get many glimpses of behind the scenes footage. The two teases we’ve seen so far got us ready for the trailer release, which is scheduled for tomorrow, but we’ll take the third, just because things are slowing down as we approach Christmas.
As a bonus, we’ve also got a new still image from the movie. If you’ve been hungry to see Michael Fassbender wielding a flashlight, this is the one for you. Read More »

Well, this is a trailer for a trailer, but it still has some of the first footage most of you will see from Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus. This is some of the same video that was shown in Hall H at Comic Con this summer, with Ridley Scott sitting on a set that looks like it came right out of Alien. (And he is still trying to say that this movie is only barely connected to Alien!) There isn’t much here, but I imagine it will be more than enough to get you excited about what we’ll see when Prometheus really makes its grand debut when the trailer drops this Thursday. Hit the jump for the preview.
Update: There is a second preview video that seems like it was meant to arrive tomorrow, but which has been found online early. Read More »
Just over a week ago we saw the first real batch of photos from Ridley Scott‘s Alien prequel, Prometheus. I’m anxiously awaiting the first real trailer for the film, having seen the Comic Con footage and a glimpse of the bad trailer bootleg that also surfaced last week. (It’s not worth watching, so don’t bother to seek out the bootleg if you haven’t already seen it — seriously, just wait for the real thing.) I don’t know if this film is going to be any good, but I think it is going to be a joy to look at, if nothing else.
To tide us over until the trailer hits, here are the same images that were released not long ago, but in very nice high-res quality. Now you can check out all the little details. From these few images the ‘Alien DNA’ that Ridley Scott mentioned when announcing the movie is so very apparent. And, as I’m sure others have remarked, doesn’t that giant head look more than a bit like original Alien conceptual artist and effects designer H.R. Giger? Alien DNA, indeed.

Details about Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus have been kept under such tight wraps that after years of reporting on the project, we still don’t have a whole lot of specifics on what it’s actually about. Even the official synopsis posted by Fox a few months back gave away next to nothing in terms of plot; it confirmed only that the film would be a “science fiction epic” about a group of characters taking some kind of journey to an unspecified world.
So we’re very intrigued to see that a new synopsis has been unveiled, which gives away just a little bit more about the storyline and may confirm an earlier rumor. Read more after the jump.

Screenwriter Damon Lindelof appeared on The Kevin Pollak Chat Show this week and talked about his latest work writing on Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus, how he got the job and how that connects to the Alien films. Find out what he said after the jump.

Briefly: Jon Spaihts immediately became a writer to watch when he was tapped to write an Alien prequel for Ridley Scott, after his scripts Shadow 19 and Passengers drew interest from studios and actors. Now his Alien prequel has become Prometheus in the hands of Damon Lindelof and Mr. Scott, so it seems it’s time for Mr. Spaihts to move on.
So Jon Spaihts is continuing his relationship with Jerry Bruckheimer, for whom the writer is already tapped to pen an adaptation of the graphic novel World War Robot. Now he’s sold another pitch to Bruckheimer, and while we don’t know the details of the story, it is being called a ‘space adventure.’ [Variety]
Besides the reveal of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man costume, and today’s Dark Knight Rises news, easily the biggest piece of movie news to be revealed in the past several weeks is that Ridley Scott‘s rumored Alien prequel had evolved into a whole new original story called Prometheus. The brand new sci-fi story is said to have “Alien‘s DNA” but will actually be “a new, grand mythology and universe,” according to Scott himself. The script was written by Damon Lindelof, based on an original draft by Jon Spaihts, and it’ll star Noomi Rapace.
So now that the green light has turned on, that’s the Internet’s cue to start speculating. One website seems to think clues to the film can be found in another of Spaihts’s scripts which also features a “Prometheus.” What does it refer to? Read more after the jump. Read More »

Consider yourself warned.
