The Punisher TV Show Footage Revealed at Comic-Con

Hall H was filled with thousands of Comic-Con attendees ready to learn more about The Defenders, the Netflix series that unites the heroes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. But first, Marvel Television’s Jeph Loeb had a special surprise for the crowd. Jon Bernthal took the stage and we all instantly realized what was coming. Baby Driver - Baby (Ansel Elgort) in mirror

Baby Driver took SXSW by storm this past March, earning such high praise (it’s currently sitting at a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, with 22 reviews in) that distributor Sony was inspired to bump its release up from a sleepy August weekend to a prime June spot.

But we didn’t know any of that was going to happen in April 2016, when the studio invited us to visit the film’s Atlanta set. All we knew at that time was that Baby Driver was the new Edgar Wright movie – and considering his track record, that in itself felt like reason enough to get excited. And what we learned on set rocketed the film to the top of our most-anticipated list.

Baby Driver Trailer

Last month, Edgar Wright‘s latest film Baby Driver played SXSW and received plenty of rave reviews, including one from our own Jacob Hall. The critical acclaim and the buzz that followed was enough to convince TriStar Pictures to bump the film from its initial August release date all the way up to the end of June. They’ve got a lot of confidence in this one, and after seeing the first trailers, so do we.

Now another Baby Driver trailer has surfaced, this one set entirely to the Golden Earring tune “Radar Love,” which was featured in the theatrical international trailer that was released last month, but is used a little more effectively in this quick new trailer. Watch it below! Read More »

Clive Owen in BMW Films' The Escape (The Hire) directed by Neill Blomkamp

Before The Knick or Children of Men or Inside Man or even The Bourne Identity, Clive Owen was best known to U.S. audiences as The Driver, the nameless and unflappably cool hero of BMW’s short film series The Hire. The projects yielded eight installments in total, released from 2001 to 2002, and attracted a variety of high-profile filmmakers from Ang Lee to Alejandro González Iñárritu.

Now, fifteen years later, the Driver is getting ready to get back on the road. Owen has teamed up with director Neill Blomkamp for another BMW short film, The Escape. This one co-stars Dakota Fanning, Vera Farmiga, and Jon Bernthal, and looks positively jam-packed with big, shiny action. Check out a teaser — and revisit some of our favorite episodes from the past — below the jump.  Read More »
