John Travolta could probably use a win right about now. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like his next film will be it. The Forger stars Travolta as a thief tasked with replicating a painting by Claude Monet, so that he can make off with the original.
He’s abetted by his father (Christopher Plummer) and son (Tye Sheridan), and hampered by the truly terrible wig atop his head. Seriously, who’s going to believe this guy can forge a Monet when he can’t even convincingly fake his own hair? Watch The Forger trailer after the jump. Read More »

Vengeance never goes out of style. John Travolta has just signed for a film called I Am Wrath, which was once going to be a Nicolas Cage movie. Now it belongs to Travolta, and he’ll play a guy who is out for justice when cops fail to corral his wife’s killer. Read More »
John Travolta‘s had one of those amazing careers where each generation knows him for something different. The youngest kids probably know him mostly for his slip up at the 2014 Oscars. The generation before that, as the guy who made a big comeback in Pulp Fiction. Before that, the musical movie star of classics like Grease and Saturday Night Fever. But it sometimes gets forgotten that Travolta first rose to prominence on TV. He played Vinnie Barbarino on Welcome Back Carter before all of that and, later this year, he returns to that medium for the first time in a long time.
Travolta has just signed to co-star in Ryan Murphy‘s new miniseries, American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. The first season will follow the famous murder case with Cuba Gooding Jr. playing Simpson. Travolta will play Robert Shapiro, one of Simpson’s defense lawyers. We’ve got more on the John Travolta American Crime Story news below. Read More »

We’ve slept a bit on this one. Add up the “direct to video” impression that the promo art (and John Travolta‘s beard) give to this latest effort from Daredevil director Mark Steven Johnson, and you might have given it a pass, too. Even if Killing Season does also star Robert De Niro as a former soldier that Travolta is keen to kill, based on a grudge that goes back to the Bosnian War.
Then I actually watched the trailer, and holy crap, that accent Travolta uses. It’s like the fake Russian accent my friends and I used in high school. It is glorious. I’ll watch the entire movie — which looks like The Edge by way of a South Park recreation of First Blood— just for that accent. And the trailer suggests there might be some other good stuff in there, too,
Check out the trailer below. Read More »
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Despite his uncanny ability to end up in the tabloids, John Travolta has always remained a fearless actor. Whether it’s singing in a musical, bumbling around in a dumb comedy, shaving his head for action or dressing up as a woman, Travolta seems always willing to try new and interesting things. So it’s only partially surprising that an industry tracking board posted a rumor the Oscar-nominated star of Pulp Fiction and Saturday Night Fever is interested in starring in the remake of the Troma classic, The Toxic Avenger. In July, Oliver Stone is going back to his lurid daylight noir style (think U-Turn) with his adaptation of Don Winslow‘s novel Savages. The film features Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson as a couple of pot growers whose business ends up in the crosshairs of a more powerful Mexican drug lord (Salma Hayek). Her henchman (Benicio Del Toro) kidnaps the guys’ shared girlfriend (Blake Lively), which leads to a pretty intense confrontation.
After the break, we’ve got an exclusive behind the scenes video showing the setup and filming of one of the movie’s action setpieces. We’ve also dropped in some of the other videos from the film that have hit in the past couple days. Read More »
