It’s been three years in real time since we last caught up with stoner buds Harold & Kumar (in 2008′s Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay) but it’s been six years of time within the movies since the two friends played by Kal Penn and John Cho last spent time together. Their third film, and their first in 3D (and first outright holiday movie) sees the pair reunited and, judging by the looks on their faces, back in trouble.
The first full official image of the pair and persistent scene-stealer Neil Patrick Harris is after the break. Read More »

Over the weekend at the San Diego Comic Con, Sony showed off the first footage from Len Wiseman‘s new version of Total Recall, starring Colin Farrell. The director and star appeared on a panel along with Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston and John Cho to talk about the movie. What we saw positioned the film as, well, very Len Wiseman. The slick style that he displayed in Underworld and Live Free or Die Hard is very much in evidence. The footage was flashy and full of CGI-stitched camera moves that make the action look as much like something out of a game as out of an action movie. We’ve got some thoughts on the presentation and a few new facts about the film after the break. Read More »

Yesterday we saw the first images of sets for the new Total Recall sets, on them some white-suited troopers. Now we’ve got the first image of Colin Farrell in the lead role of Doug Quaid, a factory worker who learns, or thinks he learns, that he is really a spy for one of two nation states, Euromerica or New Shanghai. See the full image after the break. Read More »

How can you have an American Reunion without the guy who brought the phrase “M.I.L.F” to the masses? Probably because he’ll be off planting memories in Colin Farrell. Two big bits of casting were recently revealed as Shannon Elizabeth, who played foreign exchange student Nadia in the first two American Pie movies, has finally signed to appear in the American Pie sequel American Reunion. Another Pie-alum, John Cho, who has had arguably the best career (maybe save for Seann William Scott) of all the people in the series, probably won’t be appearing though because he’s just signed to play McClane, one of the representatives who temps Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell) to implant memories in his head in Len Wiseman‘s Total Recall remake. Two films got release dates today: A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas and Seth MacFarlane‘s directorial debut Ted both have spots on the calendar. But there’s a price (of sorts) as the Ashley Greene thriller The Apparition has been bumped from a fall date back to 2012. Details on all three after the break. Read More »

Despite my reservations about his eventual performance, I was pretty thrilled when I heard that actor and Taiwanese mega-sensation pop music star Jay Chou had been cast as Kato in Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet. Turns out, I was wrong all along; according to IMDB, it was actually Harold & Kumar star John Cho that starred in the film. Huh? Screenshot after the jump.

On the off chance that an appearance by Patton Oswalt isn’t enough to get you pre-rolling for the third Harold & Kumar movie, now there is some confirmation that Neil Patrick Harris will appear in A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas, making him three for three in the series. We’ve already had reports that he was in the script, and so figured that this was coming down the pipe. But now it is, like, totally official. Or close to it. Read More »

When we talked recently about the possibility of another Harold & Kumar movie, one of the big questions was not ‘will the film happen?’ but ‘who will be in it?’ as co-star Kal Penn had left acting over a year ago to take a job as the associate director of the Office of Public Engagement at the White House. Now there’s a report that suggests Penn will be back, and that the possible summer start date for the film is now written in ink. Read More »
