The first teaser trailer for Blue Sky’s CG-animated Epic was wonderful at showing off its fantastical forest setting, but not so much at introducing us to the characters. We heard more of Snow Patrol’s “The Lightning Strike” than we did dialogue from the cast, despite a star-studded lineup including Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz, Colin Farrell, Beyonce Knowles, Jason Sudeikis, Aziz Ansari, and Chris O’Dowd.
But now a fresh batch of images have cropped up to show us who’s who in the picture, and what they’re all doing there. Hit the jump to see images of Hutcherson and Farrell’s miniature Leafmen warriors, Knowles’ Mother Nature incarnate, Waltz’s villainous force of decay, Ansari’s rather Tom Haverford-esque slug, and more.

The red-band trailer for Peter Farrelly‘s Movie 43 leaned hard on the shock factor of seeing big Hollywood stars revel in foul language and filthy jokes, but the poor green-band trailer is stuck trying to sell the exact same product by only hinting at what the NSFW version could actually show. Is Anna Faris asking Chris Pratt to take a dump on her still comedy gold when the word “poop” has to be substituted with a fart noise? Is Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts bullying their own kid still shocking when they have to keep their behavior G-rated?
Eh, truthfully, I think the answer is that none of this looked all that outrageous to begin with. But at least it’s not any less funny than it was before. Hit the jump to see Hugh Jackman, Gerard Butler, Kate Winslet, Halle Berry, Stephen Merchant, Emma Stone, Kristen Bell, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Duhamel, Terrence Howard, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Grace Moretz, Seann William Scott, Jason Sudeikis, Kristen Bell, Richard Gere, and so, so, so many more celebs in the new SFW trailer.

Through the Ice Age movies, Blue Sky Studios has become one of the premier CG animation houses for feature films, and the company’s new effort is a whimsical forest battle called Epic. Chris Wedge, who directed the first Ice Age film and has voiced the Scrat character throughout that franchise, is directing.
This one features Josh Hutcherson as the voice of the lead character, a diminutive forest warrior who rides a hummingbird, but all you’ll hear of him in the first trailer is a bunch of grunts and exclamations. Most of the audio in this trailer is Snow Patrol’s song ‘The Lightning Strike,’ though there is a bit of dialogue from Aziz Ansari (as a slug) and Amanda Seyfried as a teenage girl who finds herself in the midst of a strange forest war.

Adding to the big day over at 20th Century Fox, they’ve just announced the full voice cast for their latest CG 3D animated film called Epic. Created by Blue Sky Studios, Epic (formerly called Leafmen) “tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours.”
The voice cast is impressive. It includes Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Knoxville, Aziz Ansari, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, Blake Anderson and Judah Friedlander.
Directed by Chris Wedge, Epic is scheduled for release May 24, 2013. Read more after the jump. Read More »

When real-life politics get ugly, it’s depressing, but when fictional politics go negative, it’s hilarious. After whetting your appetite with Monday’s silly political ads, the first full-length trailer has been unveiled for Jay Roach‘s The Campaign. Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell star as rivals competing for a Congressional seat in North Carolina. As you can probably guess by that cast, it’s not long before the race spins amusingly out of control. More details after the jump.

The best-laid plans of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis went horribly awry the last time they tried to get revenge on their superiors, but the trio could be gearing up to try again. Horrible Bosses 2 is now officially in the works as screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein sign on to pen the sequel. Helmer Seth Gordon in early talks to return as well, and the three stars are expected to reprise their roles.
Although Horrible Bosses didn’t get as much attention, positive or negative, as comedy blockbusters Bridesmaids and The Hangover Part II did last summer, it was a surprise hit that grossed $209 million worldwide on a budget of just $35 million. No wonder Warner Bros. is looking to recreate that magic. More after the jump.
