Yet another new international trailer for Matthew Vaughn‘s X-Men: First Class has dropped, and while it looks a lot like all the other trailers we’ve seen, I can’t argue that it doesn’t look good. There’s also a tiny bit of new footage within. Watch it after the jump.

A couple weeks ago a great international trailer for X-Men: First Class appeared, with dialogue dubbed in Russian. Now there is a Japanese cut of the trailer — same thing, but with original English dialogue. If the dubbing put you off before there’s no reason not to take a look now. While some of the marketing for the film has been a little off the mark, the two core trailers — this one and the primary US one — have been fantastic and full of promise. Total Film has a new cover story on X-Men: First Class, and the magazine has created a bonus for those who purchase: a series of three vintage-style covers that emulate the classic styles of mags such as Life and Esquire. They’re great ways to get across the swinging ’60s vibe of First Class. And damn, but Michael Fassbender’s cover makes him look like a pretty ideal possible James Bond successor.
There’s a gallery with the covers right after the break, and then a rundown of quite a few new plot details that have broken over the past couple days as various people involved in the film have talked to the press. It’s fitting that after two less-than-stellar X-Men movies, the man who launched the franchise is once again the mouthpiece. Bryan Singer, the director of the first two X-Men films, is a producer on the upcoming X-Men: First Class and has emerged as sort of the behind-the-scenes face of the big screen X-Men. As a follow-up to the first trailer for First Class, which is directed by Matthew Vaughn, Singer spoke to the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex about some of the characters we finally saw in the trailer and Blastr was quick to point out that there is plenty of room for interpretation between the lines of Singer’s quotes. Here’s the first small image of the assembled cast for Matthew Vaughn‘s X-Men: First Class. Left to right, we see: Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havoc, Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier.
I expect that we’ll see a better version of this image later today — I’d initially held off posting this one because it looks like an early, not quite finished look. And, frankly, I’m a bit disappointed in how this looks. It’s a lot more modern than I’d expected, but perhaps a high-res version will showcase the small costume details in a better way. After the break lurks the first trailer for Ironclad, comprising un-polished footage from only the first 2 weeks of shooting and originating as a Cinematical exclusive. You can also see a BBC video report from the set that, while considerably less intense and graphic shows just as much mud and medieval might.
Jonathan English‘s film stars Paul Giamatti as big, bad King John and Jason Flemyng, William Moseley and Robert Carlyle as some of the good guys, with Kate Mara as one of the good gals. Her action is revisionism, sure, but healthy revisionism.
English previously directed Minotaur, a myth-infused B-movie with a starring role for Tom Hardy and a cameo from Ingrid Pitt… so, why haven’t I seen it exactly?

Warner Bros Pictures has issued an official press release announcing the beginning of principal photography on Louis Leterrier‘s Clash of the Titans. I’ve included the whole press release after the jump, and it is actually worth reading because it includes a detailed cast and crew breakdown, and plot synopsis. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 26th 2010.
