At Comic-Con, Paramount Pictures screened 8-minutes of Jackass 3D (watch our video blog here, trailer here) and I called it “a theme park experience but with poop and pee.” I know I hurt from laughing after only 8 minutes, and I believe it takes the gimmicky nature of 3D to the extreme. Paramount is trying to think of some out of the box marketing ideas to promote the upcoming 3D sequel. So how do you promote Jackass 3D? With a 3D billboard/display. Hilarious. Check it out after the jump.

One of the surprise hits of Comic Con was the eight minutes of footage shown from Jackass 3D. I didn’t get to see the clips, but heard nothing but raves — reportedly, the stuff is pretty out there, humor-wise, and exactly what you’d want from a 3D Jackass film. Now you can see some new footage from the picture, and all you’ll have to do is watch the new Weezer video. Read More »
Vanity Fair has an article on Jackass 3D titled “The 3-D Stooges”, asserting that Johnny Knoxville, Steve O., and Bam Margera are a modern day version of The Three Stooges. They even did a photoshop to illustrate the point. Read the full article on VanityFair.com. View more from the photoshoot in one of those annoying slideshows.

Paramount Pictures has released the first movie trailer for Jackass 3D. We caught a sneak preview of footage from the film at Comic Con (watch our video blog here) and called it “a theme park experience but with poop and pee.” I know I hurt from laughing after only 8 minutes, and I believe it takes the gimmicky nature of 3D to the extreme. Watch the trailer, in boring old 2D, embedded after the jump. And while you might think I’m kidding — trust me, this trailer plays a lot funnier in three dimensions.

LOL: Johnny Knoxville Says Jackass 3D Will “Take the Same 3D Technology James Cameron Used in Avatar and Stick It Up Steve O’s Butt”

Even thought the Hollywood tradepapers confirmed rumors earlier this month that Jackass 3D would begin filming on January 25th 2010, Paramount andMTV Films have apparently sent out a press release officially announcing the project. The funniest part is a quote from Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, who claims that with Jackass 3D, “We’re going to take the same 3D technology James Cameron used in AVATAR and stick it up Steve O’s butt. We’re taking stupid to a whole new dimension.”
Last month, Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer mentioned that not only is Sony interested in a sequel, but if they can “crack” the story for a sequel, it will probably be shot in 3D. A few days later, a list of Paramount’s 2010 slate listed another Jackass sequel, Jackass 3D. Variety has now confirmed that both projects are in development. Who is signed? Who isn’t? When will the films go into production? Find out after the jump.
