Years after the conclusion of the NBC sci-fi drama series Heroes, the event series Heroes Reborn returns to the world of super powered humans. And this time our heroes face an entirely different threat than each other.
Two vigilantes (Zachary Levi and Judith Shekoni) are hunting down evolved humans, referred to as Evos, forcing both new and old faces to unite and try to save the world all over again from some kind of impending doom. Can this help redeem the original run of the series from its disappointing end?

Was the world really clamoring for more Heroes? Probably not, but superhero shows are the hot thing right now, and NBC wasn’t about to let a perfectly good old property go to waste. In any case, Heroes Reborn is happening whether you like it or not, so let’s just hope it turns out better than the original Heroes did.
The first real Heroes Reborn trailer straddles the line between the fresh and the familiar. Zachary Levi, Ryan Guzman, and Kiki Sukezane are among the new characters, while Jack Coleman‘s HRG and Masi Oka‘s Hiro are some of those returning. Watch the Heroes Reborn trailer after the jump. Back in February 2014, NBC announced that the superhero show Heroes was coming back. The return is to be a limited miniseries called Heroes Reborn. Since that first announcement, information has been trickling in. Some cast members from the original show are returning, lots of new characters will debut, and now – over a year since its announcement – the show is in production. NBC has finally released the first images from the show, and they feature returning cast member Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet (aka HRG) as well as new additions Zachary Levi and Kiki Sukezane. The stars of Heroes have a new favorite frozen drink, and it may look somewhat familiar. The following photos showed up on the blog of Heroes director/producer Greg Beeman of the cast of the hit show drinking “Slusho!” a drink which first appeared in the JJ Abrams’ series Alias, and has now become a focal point of the viral marking behind the hot JJ Abrams produced monster flick Cloverfield. So what will Heroes have to do with the upcoming movie? Will their be a connection? Greg Grunberg, a childhood friend of Abrams who has appeared in nearly every thing he’s produced thus far, appears on Heroes as Matt Parkman. Could he just be helping his best bud promote the upcoming film? Beeman won’t say:
“Now, the next group of photos falls into the “don’t ask/don’t tell” category. I credit Greg Yaitanes for staging all these pix, under the supervision of Joe Pokaski. Their cultural significance will become clear in the coming months, so… pay attention!”
There is obviously more to this story. Dennis at CloverfieldClues discovered that Slusho actually made its first appearance on Heroes during last night’s episode, check out that photo below:
We’ll keep you updated. Check out more Heroes behind the scenes Slusho photos after the jump.
