hannibal-s2-poster-2

The second season of Hannibal premieres on February 28, and to go with that newly-announced date we’ve got a new poster for the show. The first season two poster was wild, but this puts FBI profiler Will Graham right into the position most commonly associated with his associate and eventual nemesis, Hannibal Lector (Mads Mikkelsen). That mask is so iconic thanks to The Silence of the Lambs; even this altered version has familiar overtones.

That date means the 13-episode second season will start after the Winter Olympics. Laurence Fishburne returns as Jack Crawford, and Caroline Dhavernas and Hettienne Park co-star. See the full poster below, and get comments from series creator Bryan Fuller about his vision for the grand scope of the show. Read More »

Hannibal

With Hannibal, series creator Bryan Fuller and broadcast home NBC are part of the impressive trend of televised horror that pushes the boundaries of what many people thought was possible or permissible on TV. In the process, they’ve created fans out of people who thought a series exploring the early relationship between Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) was doomed to fail.

The show has leapt off from what was done in books such as The Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon (filmed twice, as Manhunter and then Red Dragon) to create a compelling vision of its own, thanks to the cooperation between the two leads and Fuller.

Now Fuller has offered up a teaser poster for season two, and it’s a far cry from the comparatively tame image used to promote season one.  Read More »

Watch the Full ‘Hannibal’ Pilot Online

Hannibal

2013 has already seen the debut of multiple serial-killer TV series, including Fox’s The Following and A&E’s Bates Motel. Yet by all accounts NBC’s Hannibal is the best of the bunch. The Silence of the Lambs prequel series has drawn raves from critics for Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy‘s performances as Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham, as well as for Bryan Fuller‘s eye for gorgeous, gory detail.

Unfortunately, all of those compliments haven’t translated to very high ratings for the premiere. Which means there’s a good chance, statistically speaking, that you didn’t catch the show last night. Fortunately, NBC has now put the entire pilot episode online for you to enjoy at your leisure. Watch the full-length video after the jump.
