Suicide Squad Trailer Mash-Up

Even though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just hit theaters over a month ago, James Gunn is already hard at work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Just recently, the director’s brother Sean Gunn said that development isn’t moving as quickly as it otherwise would since part of what happens in the sequel depends on what the Guardians deal with in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.

But there is one thing that James Gunn is already considering and it would require him to break part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon he established in the first movie. Get the lowdown on this Guardians of the Galaxy 3 development below. Read More »

Quasar

Guardians of the Galaxy series director James Gunn posted a tweet yesterday that is leading fans to speculate that the character Quasar might appear in the third installment of Marvel’s cosmic franchise. Was the tweet a sly tease, an unintentional slip-up, or just an observation completely unrelated to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? That’s the question.

Elizabeth Debicki in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just opened, fans are already looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Details are sparse on the sequel since we’re still three years away from it hitting theaters, but we do know that it will help set up the next 10 years of movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, thanks to writer/director James Gunn, we have word on a new character from Vol. 2 who will be back for the sequel that is said to conclude the story for this iteration of the team.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Elizabeth Debicki plays Ayesha, the Golden High Priestess of the Sovereign who leads a pursuit to track down and destroy the titular crew after Rocket Raccoon steals some of their valuable anulax batteries. It turns out she’ll be back in the next installment of the franchise, and thanks to one of the credits scenes, we probably know what she’ll be up to. Since that delves into spoiler territory, we’ll save that discussion for below…

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Even though the official numbers won’t be in until Monday morning, the estimates for the opening weekend for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the United States is around $145 million. That’s quite an improvement over the original’s $94.3 million opening weekend in 2014, giving it the largest jump in opening weekend box office for a sequel, coming in only behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And that means we’ll definitely be getting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as if there was any doubt.

We’ve already gotten word that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will help set up the next 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it will also be the end of the story for the current iteration of the squad of cosmic superheroes. Now director James Gunn has teased when we’ll get to see the threequel while thanking fans for all their support for the sequel’s opening weekend. Read what he had to say after the jump. Read More »

guardians of the galaxy vol. 2

Marvel Studios changed the game when they signed Samuel L. Jackson to an unprecedented nine movie deal back in 2009. Since then, keeping track of how many Marvel movies different actors have left on their contracts has become a minor hobby for some fans.

Last week, I sat down with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Chris Pratt, and while our full conversation is still forthcoming, I wanted to share a couple of his comments about whether or not he’ll appear in Captain Marvel, whether he’ll renew his contract with the studio, and Star-Lord’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Read the Chris Pratt Marvel contract details below.

guardians of the galaxy 3 end current team

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hasn’t even hit theaters yet, but director James Gunn is already looking ahead to the next volume in his space romp saga.

Gunn recently confirmed that he’ll be returning to direct the third installment of his wildly popular superhero movie, and thus help shepherd in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But the the next decade of the MCU may shake up the galaxy as we know it, with Gunn hinting that the current “iteration” of the Guardians team won’t make it through the next film.

Marvel 2020 movies - Phase Four

We’re still in the early stages of Marvel’s Phase Three — next week’s Doctor Strange is just the second film out of ten — but since Marvel is famous for mapping out its plans well ahead of time, it’s impossible not to wonder what’s coming in Phase Four. Steven Tyler in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

The hype surrounding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is already very high. Fans are so excited about the sequel that director James Gunn even had to ask people to stop asking him when the trailer was going to arrive. According to his recent barrage of answers to frequently asked questions, it will arrive sometime before Christmas, so just be patient.

Now Chris Pratt is adding to the hype machine in a recent interview where he claims that the movie will be the “biggest spectacle of all time.” And when you have a sequel building that much excitement, it should come as no surprise when a rock star like Steven Tyler says that he wants a role for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, whenever that happens.
