As The Wedding Ringer hits theaters, Warner Bros. has just released the latest trailer for Get Hard, Kevin Hart‘s other 2015 movie about giving an image makeover to an awkward white guy.
In this one, Hart plays Darnell, who is enlisted by hedge fund manager James (Will Ferrell) to help him prep for his upcoming stay in prison. What James doesn’t realize is that Darnell has no more experience with prison life than he does. Watch the latest Get Hard trailer after the jump. Read More »

In Get Hard, Will Ferrell plays a rich hedge fund manager/douchebag who is convicted of fraud and embezzlement, and sentenced to ten years in a maximum security prison. (Which marks the movie as an outlandish comedy — in real list that guy almost never has to go to prison.) Scared of the big house, Ferrell tries to prep for his ordeal by turning to the only black guy he has any passing contact with, just assuming that he’s been to prison. But not only is Kevin Hart‘s character not an ex-con; he’s a squeaky-clean guy who is probably the furthest thing from a criminal. See how they work together in the Get Hard trailer below.

Briefly: The biggest small star of 2014 already has a big 2015 movie lined up. Kevin Hart, star of this year’s hits Ride Along and About Last Night, will star with Will Ferrell in Get Hard, a comedy directed by Etan Cohen. Ferrell plays a banker who is sentenced to jail and hires his car wash guy, played by Hart, to prepare him for prison. (Hence the title.)
The film has been in development since last year but Warner Bros. just gave it a release date: March 27, 2015. That places it against Neill Blomkamp’s Chappie and the animated The Penguins of Madagascar. [Box Office Mojo]
Briefly: Will Ferrell is turning to Kevin Hart for help, and a Tropic Thunder writer is going to watch over it all. Etan Cohen, who co-wrote Tropic Thunder, will direct Get Hard, scripted by Ian Roberts and Jay Martel.
The film is about “a wealthy investment bank manager who is convicted of a crime he didn’t commit and prepares for prison with help from the guy who washes his car.” A guess says that Ferrell plays the banker and Hart the car wash guy, though there’d probably be a lot more comedy if the casting was reversed. “Get hard,” in this instance, is obviously talking about the bank managers’ effort to toughen up before going to the pen, but this being a Ferrell project there’ll probably be a couple viagra and/or prison sex jokes in there, too.
