Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon

Batman won’t return to the big screen until Man of Steel 2, or whatever it winds up being called, in 2016. But sometime before that, we’ll get to meet him all over again in Gotham, Fox’s prequel series about a young Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie).

We know plenty about the drama already thanks to all those casting reports, but today we have an even more detailed Gotham synopsis and logo to share. Check ‘em out after the jump.

24 Live Another Day

The first 24: Live Another Day trailer was released during the Super Bowl last month. But the first 24: Live Another Day trailer featuring actual footage from the series was revealed this weekend.

In it, CIA head Steve Harris (Benjamin Bratt) spots Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) for the first time in years. Like us in the audience, he seems excited to see Jack; unlike us, it’s because he thinks Jack is a bad guy.

But that’s not even the biggest of Jack’s worries. As he warns Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub), “If the American president is assassinated on foreign soil, you’re looking at a world war.” And the only man who can stop such a cataclysmic event is… well, you can probably guess. Watch the pulse-pounding promo after the jump.

24 Live Another Day

The first teaser for 24: Live Another Day debuted during the Super Bowl, but since we’ve yet to receive a full-length trailer we’re still mostly in the dark as to what the show will actually look like. Happily, we have a slightly better idea today since Fox has revealed a big batch of stills.

The new 24: Live Another Day images feature returning characters Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) and Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub), along with lots of fresh faces played by Yvonne Strahovski, Benjamin Bratt, Tate Donovan, and more. See them all after the jump.

NEBRASKA

Before they were the acclaimed directors of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, and The Lego Movie, Phil Lord and Chris Miller were making themselves known on the small screen. They created the well-received Clone High, and worked as writers and producers on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. Now, in the wake of their biggest theatrical opening weekend ever, they’re preparing to head back to television.

Fox has given a series order to Last Man on Earth, a comedy created by Will Forte. Lord and Miller will direct, as well as executive produce alongside Forte and Seth Cohen (by which we mean the head of Lord Miller Productions, not the fictional character from The O.C.). Hit the jump for more details.

Ben McKenzie in Southland

Fox’s Gotham has finally found its Jim Gordon. Ben McKenzie, known for his work in Southland and The O.C., is set to play the future police commissioner in the DC-based prequel. Funnily enough, this won’t be McKenzie’s first visit to Gotham City — he voiced Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman in Warner Home Video’s Batman: Year One, an adaptation of Frank Miller’s comic. Hit the jump for new plot details and more.

Judy Davis Quits ’24: Live Another Day’

Judy Davis in Page Eight

Fox’s event miniseries 24: Live Another Day has amassed quite an intriguing mix of old and new characters. There are Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver, and William Devane, all reprising their roles from the original drama series, plus franchise newcomers Yvonne Strahovski, Stephen Fry, and John Boyega. But one that’s fallen off that list, unfortunately, is Judy Davis.

Although the Aussie actress signed on back in December, she has now dropped out of the production and her role is being recast. Find out why, and get more details on her character, after the jump.

Donal Logue

Earlier this week, we heard that Donal Logue had been cast in the role of Jim Gordon in Gotham, Fox’s upcoming DC-based series. The Terriers actor quickly denied the report, but we had reason to take his demurral with a grain of salt; it’s not uncommon for actors to tell a bald-faced lie when asked about unconfirmed deals or highly secretive projects.

Well, now the word is that Logue was indeed telling the truth. He hasn’t been cast as Gordon in Gotham at all — because he’s been offered the part of Detective Harvey Bullock, according to a new report. Get the latest update on this show after the jump.
