Got about 46 seconds to spare? If so, there are few better uses of your movie-loving time then watching these five mini sizzle reels from Zack Snyder’s upcoming Sucker Punch, set for release March 25. The film stars Emily Browning as Baby Doll, an abused young girl who is forced into to a mental hospital for women. There she uses her unique powers to transport her and her fellow inmates, played by Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, and Jamie Chung, to alternate plains of reality in order to help them to escape. There are worlds with 20 foot samurais, Nazi zombies, mechanical droids, flame breathing dragons, laser shooting robots and more. You’ve probably seen many of these images in some of the previous footage that’s been released, but, these clips are like trailers for people with A.D.D. Very easily digestible. Check them out after the jump. Read More »

Robin Wright has an increasingly promising slate of films coming up: she’s in Robert Redford’s The Conspirator (in the title role) and is shooting a part in Moneyball, where she’ll play the ex-wife of Billy Beane, played by Brad Pitt.
And now she’s in talks to work with David Fincher in his new version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which was recently confirmed to star Daniel Craig and may also feature Stellan Skarsgård. Read More »
If you weren’t at Comic-Con this weekend, then you probably still heard the insane buzz coming out of Warner Bros’ panel for Zack Snyder‘s next film Sucker Punch. The promo reel which screened at the presentation was almost indescribable, a combination of anime and video game-like imagery, but on crack, and shot in the visually intense style we’ve become use to from Snyder. You can watch the video blog we recorded in Hall H by clicking here. Warner Bros is riding the buzz and has launched the first official movie trailer online today. Watch it now, embedded after the jump. Please leave your thoughts in the comments below.
A couple weeks back we posted the first photo from Zack Snyder‘s Sucker Punch. Last week, I posted some props and maquettes (giving us a better look at our group of girl heros, a World War I masked zombie solider, and a mech suit featuring a pink bunny) and the first set of character banners. On Sunday, I spotted a new poster for the film on the Comic-Con show floor. Check out the full poster, after the jump.

The Entertainment Weekly Comic Con preview issue is starting to make its way out into the world and onto the beds of scanners everywhere. There were a half dozen Green Lantern photos from the mag yesterday, and today there’s the first real image from Zack Snyder‘s Sucker Punch.
Here you can see (l-r) Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Emily Browning, Scott Glenn, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung. The film follows Emily Browning’s character, Babydoll, who is confined to a mental institution from which she fantastizes an alternate reality. Browning and the other girls seen here are all wards of the institution, and this shot is part of the fantasy reality, in which Browning is trying to find a handful of objects that will allow her to escape.
Snyder has said many times that the film will be a dark, violent fantasty full of guns, action and monsters, and this photo certainly suggests that he wasn’t exaggerating. We’ll know more when we see footage at Comic Con next week. Read More »

While promoting Sorority Row, actress Jamie Chung has been talking about Zack Snyder‘s upcoming film Sucker Punch, in which she is featured alongside Emily Browning, Jenna Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish and supporting players Carla Gugino and Jon Hamm. We know a few things about the film: Browning plays Baby Doll, a girl confined to a mental institution by her stepfather. She escapes into outlandish, violent fantasy to deal with her predicament. Chung gets a bit more specific, though, and her comments follow the break. Are they spoilers? Not really, if you’ve been reading what we’ve covered so far. Read More »
