Emilia-Clarke-In-Game-Of-Thrones

Briefly: Emilia Clarke is reuniting with her Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor for Terminator: Genesis. Clarke will play Sarah Connor, the woman who is the mother of analog savior John Connor.

She’ll appear in the movie opposite Jason Clarke (no relation), who will play her son Jon — in other words, we know there’s definitely some time travel in this one. Deadline, reporting the news, says there’s a trip forward this time, so we may see Sarah thrust into the future where an AI network has achieved sentience and started to wipe out humanity. Original The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger will reportedly show up as well.

Terminator: Genesis has been described as the first chapter in a new film trilogy; it is set for release in July 2015.

Clarke Larson

As films move and shift in and around that crazy 2015 release schedule, one that’s methodically, quietly, and steadily moving forward like a killing machine is the Terminator reboot. Alan Taylor hasn’t even officially been announced as the director, yet they’re also very close to casting one of the film’s leads: unsuspecting mother turned soldier Sarah Connor. Reports state Taylor and Paramount are now down to two actresses: Game of ThronesEmilia Clarke or Short Term 12‘s Brie Larson. However, with Taylor’s Game of Thrones roots, it seems Clarke might have the edge.  Read More »

Dom Hemingway

Jude Law is a pretty, pretty man, and (like many actors) he’s enjoyed a long, healthy career in part by capitalizing on this fact. But in Dom Hemingway, he’s nothing like the handsome, elegant presence we’ve come to expect. Instead, he looks bleary and bloated and altogether slimy, and his performance looks all the more entertaining for it.

Directed by Richard Shepard, the British crime dramedy stars Law as a loud, lewd safecracker just coming off of a twelve-year stint in prison. He reunites with his BFF (Richard E. Grant) to try to get his life back on track, which means trying to collect what he’s owed from his boss (Demián Bichir) and mending his relationship with his daughter (Emilia Clarke). Check out the newest red-band trailer after the jump.

‘Dom Hemingway’ Trailer: Rude, Crude Jude (Law)

Dom Hemingway

After a string of strong supporting roles, Jude Law returns to the spotlight in Dom Hemingway. And what a noisy, colorful return it may be.

The gangster pic stars Law as a safecracker who’s just spent twelve years in prison for keeping his mouth shut. Once out, he reconnects with his old life by trying to collect his due from his boss (Demián Bichir) and make up with his estranged daughter (Emilia Clarke). Richard E. Grant plays Dom’s best friend, who’s along for the ride.

The first trailer has just hit, and you can check it out after the jump. Be warned that it’s NSFW, unless your own boss doesn’t mind seeing Law’s bare bottom on your computer screen.

Captain America 2

We know that Chris Evans is returning for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but there has been a big question mark over the identity of his primary female co-star. Hayley Atwell was well-liked as Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger, but that film’s final jump forward in time makes the character not viable for the sequel.

And so there’s room for a new presence in Captain America 2, which will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Marvel is choosing among a number of popular young actresses for the role, with tests taking place. The nature of the part is undisclosed at this point, but the names suggest a key love interest. Believe it or not, there’s just 34 days left to go until the second season premiere of HBO’s Game of Thrones. And as that date approaches, the teasers and trailers have been getting ever so slightly more revealing. The latest ditches the dramatic narration of the last two, so we get more dialogue this time around — and, consequently, a better idea of the struggles the characters will be facing in the upcoming season. Watch the video after the jump. (Spoilers for Season One follow, obviously.)
