Here’s your first Point Break remake trailer, showing off the new version of the 1991 movie that starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. Point Break now features much more than surfing. Indeed, Warner Bros. trumpets that this film has “the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture,” with stunts “performed by elite athletes representing the world’s best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling.”
But wait! There are actors in the film, too. Édgar Ramírez (Zero Dark Thirty, Carlos) stars as the daredevil criminal Bodhi, while Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) is young FBI agent Johnny Utah. Ray Winstone (Noah), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and Delroy Lindo (Gone in Sixty Seconds) are in the film, too. Check out the trailer below. Read More »

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
That shot above looks like it could almost be Édgar Ramírez as Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, but in reality it is Ramírez as Simón Bolívar in the film The Liberator (aka Libertador). Or, if you want to be proper about it, the image shows Ramírez as Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar y Palacios Ponte y Blanco, who lived from 1783 to 1830 and was one of the most important military leaders in Latin America’s effort to shrug off colonial Spanish rule. Now Bolívar is the subject of a biopic. Despite having the intensely talented Ramírez to play the man, the film seems like it is cut right from the mold of so many other biographic films. To get an idea of how it all came together, watch The Liberator trailer below. Read More »
Gerard Butler recently bailed on getting back into surfing gear for a big remake performance; now the new Point Break remake Bodhi will be Édgar Ramírez. He’ll be the new version of the muscular surfer dude who is also a self-styled Robin Hood-like bank robber. (And in fact, it seems like this version won’t be so focused on surfing, anyway.) The swap happened because, as Gerard Butler’s commitment to the Olympus Has Fallen sequel loomed, he decided not to get in the water for the action re-do.
Now Ramírez will provide the most compelling argument to date for paying attention to the remake, as he’s one of the better guys working right now. Along with his casting, a late summer release has been set for the film in 2015.
